A decade into her solo career, Beyoncé effectively evaded irrelevancy by wresting control of her own narrative. After her 2011 album 4 failed to produce a Top 10 hit—to date, her only album to do so—the singer began dropping albums without any pre-release promotion, sidestepping chart expectations and reimagining the traditional pop album release strategy. Since then, she’s done few interviews and often glides into awards shows donning dark shades and a straight face, shrewdly creating a superstar mystique in the vein of Michael Jackson and Prince.
That approach, thankfully, has been accompanied by some of Beyoncé’s most creative, political, and inspired work to date. Her 2016 visual album Lemonade drew on her personal experiences as a Black woman to comment on feminism and racism in the Me Too and Black Lives Matter era, while its follow-up, 2022’s Renaissance, kept the focus squarely on the music, inspired by and dedicated...

Nothing could rain on Spotify’s Best New Artist party’s parade. Even if the rain came pouring at random moments throughout the night, it was clear that Spotify’s annual celebration was the place to be Thursday. Turn your head to the left to see Reneé Rapp and Towa Bird giggling and sipping a drink. Turn to the right to spot Kesha posing for photos in front of a giant poster of Jelly Roll.

Jay-Z and Beyoncé decided to celebrate their engagement in an interesting way. And their night out would later inspire the look for one of Beyoncé’s own hit videos.

Jay-Z had a unique proposal in mind for his wife Beyoncé. In an interview she did with Essence (via MTV News), the singer shared that he wasn’t a fan of getting a traditional engagement ring.
“It’s just material, and it’s just silly to me,” she said.
She and Jay-Z reportedly gave themselves matching tattoos with the roman numeral four on their ring fingers instead. The number 4 was chosen as a special number. Beyoncé birthday falls on September 4th and Jay-Z’s on December of the same day.
According to Contact Music, Beyoncé also once gave insight into what she did with her husband after the proposal.

On the one-year anniversary of Renaissance, Beyoncé brought the album’s lyrics to life — especially “category: bad bitch, I’m thе bar” — with a stunning performance proving why she’s one of one, number one and the only one. Don’t even waste your time trying to compete with her.
The icon was energetic and vibrant during her three-hour show Saturday night, running through Renaissance favorites like “Alien Superstar” and “Cuff It,” as well as past hits and album cuts, like “My Power,” where Blue Ivy earned a rousing applause as she joined her mother to perform extended choreography.
Beyoncé said as she entered her dressing room at MetLife Stadium, a photo of her sister Solange as a baby and her late uncle Johnny — who she dedicated Renaissance to and references on “Heated” — were on display. “And I just thank God for this night and this experience and my Uncle Johnny,...

Los Angeles, May 20 (Ians) Singer Beyonce surprise dropped a remix of her ‘Renaissance’ hit ‘America Has a Problem’ featuring Kendrick Lamar on Friday night.
The new version of the song launches right into a tight verse from Lamar, in which he raps about everything from AI (“Even AI gotta practice clonin’ Kendrick”) to the Beyhive, reports Variety.
Beyonce then picks up for the rest of the song, which clocks in at four minutes and 20 seconds. The remix’s cover art features an American flag made up of what appears to be red, white and blue bullets.
‘America Has a Problem’ has been surging in popularity recently, thanks in part to the choreography that Beyonce debuted when her ‘Renaissance’ world tour kicked off in Stockholm, Sweden on May 10, which has inspired a TikTok trend.
Beyonce’s tour – her first in nearly five years – is set to continue through September, hitting both Europe and North America.

Beyoncé has officially kicked off her "Renaissance" World Tour. The megastar launched the highly anticipated event on May 10 in Stockholm, Sweden, kicking off a three-hour set without an opening act. She's set to travel through Europe through June before coming to North America over the summer, completing over 40 dates by the time the tour is through.
The tour is Beyoncé's first since 2018's "On the Run" tour with Jay-Z. Her last solo tour was in support of 2016's "Lemonade," so needless to say, the "Renaissance" tour is a major event - and Forbes has predicted that it could gross up to $2.6 billion by the time it's complete, making it one of the most profitable tours ever. It also marks Beyoncé's first live performance since 2018 other than a one-off appearance in Dubai in January, where she appeared alongside her oldest daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.
Ahead, check out the full set list...

Beyoncé is facing criticism after performing a private concert in Dubai for a crowd of A-list attendees. The star reportedly made 24 million for the show which marked the opening of the luxury hotel Atlantis The Royal.
In Memoriam 2022: 100 Great Celebrities Who Died In 2022
Some fans are conflicted about the performance because of the country’s strict laws against same-sex relationships. Homosexuality is punishable by the death penalty in the United Arab Emirates.
Despite the singer’s latest album, Renaissance, being a tribute to “black queer culture,” she accepted the large sum to perform in the Emirate’s capital.
No beef but I’m struggling to understand why Beyoncé, who has half a billion dollars, would accept 20 million dollars to make her debut performance of the Renaissance album, a record which lifts heavily from queer culture, in Dubai, a country where LGBT rights aren’t recognised.

As if performing a live concert for the first time in four years wasn't enough to make Beyoncé fans' lives over the weekend, the "Break My Soul" singer sweetened the deal by incorporating her daughter Blue Ivy Carter into the big occasion.
It all went down at the grand reveal of Dubai's newest hotel, Atlantis The Royal, on Jan. 21, where Beyoncé performed an unforgettable one-hour show to mark the occasion (Popsugar was also on hand at the event). While Queen Bey's solo performances of iconic songs like "Xo," "Halo," "Beautiful Liar," "Crazy in Love," and more were enough to blow fans away, it was her performance of the Grammy-winning song "Brown Skin Girl" with Blue Ivy that was the true highlight of the night.
In clips shared by fans in attendance on Twitter, Blue can be seen on stage decked out in red beside her mother (who was dressed in...

Every year, Strictly Come Dancing brings its yearly spook-fest back to the dance floor.
By now, we’ve seen hundreds of dancers take part in the themed competition week, hoping to impress the judges with routines that are less trick, more treat.
For fans, Halloween is one of the biggest nights in the Strictly calendar. Design-wise, it doesn’t get more extra than this, with the perfect performance featuring a spooky costume and song choice that are well linked together. However, it’s not always easy and we often see a slightly spooky song title pushed together with a random costume that doesn’t exactly make sense or scream Halloween. After all, there are only so many times the show can do the “Monster Mash”.
The best Halloween dances bring all these elements together, from design, to music, to (naturally) the actual dancing. Among this top 10 we have a lot of tangos,...

Double take! Blue Ivy Carter looked like a spitting image of mom Beyoncé in a side-by-side snapshot shared to the music superstar's Instagram page on Thursday evening. "Someone made this comparison of me at age 7 and Blue at age 7," Queen Bey captioned the must-see photo. "My baby is growing up." From the curls to the smile, there's no denying Blue Ivy is following in the footsteps of her famous mama. And to think, even at 7 this celeb spawn has already traveled the world, rapped on a Jay-z album and outbid Tyler Perry at an art auction. It appears as if twins Rumi and Sir Carter stayed at home while the "Crazy In Love"...

It’s almost unheard of for one artist to earn multiple Grammy nominations for Record of the Year at the same ceremony. Pharrell Williams did it in 2014 as a featured artist on both “Blurred Lines” and the winning song “Get Lucky,” but when nominations are announced on December 5 two hopefuls could make history as the first female artists ever to accomplish the feat: Beyonce and Cardi B.
Beyonce has been nominated for Record of the Year five times without a win thus far: “Say My Name” with Destiny’s Child (2001), “Crazy in Love” (2004), “Irreplaceable” (2008), “Halo” (2010) and “Formation” (2017). She could up that total to seven this year with a pair of duets. According to the combined predictions of nearly 2,000 Gold Derby users, she ranks fourth in the category for “Perfect” with Ed Sheeran (17/2 odds) and sixth for “Apeshit” with Jay-z (13/1).

On a recent episode of our Rolling Stone Music Now podcast, R&B singer Amerie explained how she and “Crazy in Love” producer Rich Harrison made “1 Thing,” which landed at number 90 on Rolling Stone‘s list of the Best Songs of the 21st Century (So Far). The 2005 song paved the way for the decade of pop that followed, combining a wildly syncopated drum loop from the Meters with hyper-rhythmic vocals that owed way more to hip-hop than traditional R&B. Beyoncé and Jay-Z kicked off their On the Run II Tour in Cardiff, UK, on Wednesday, and naturally people have lost their dang minds. Aside from giving fans an intimate look at their personal lives through home videos and pictures of their precious twins, the couple is putting on one hell of a show. The pair is performing some of their greatest duets, including "Drunk in Love," "Bonnie and Clyde," and "Family Feud," but they're also singing a few of their own tracks. While there's no telling what surprises lie in store for future concert dates, their opening night is probably a good indicator of what songs you can expect to hear. See the full set list below.

Kaley Cuoco is celebrating her last days as a single woman. On Saturday, the Big Bang Theory actress danced the night away at a bar with family and friends at her pink-paradise-themed bachelorette party, and we're low-key jealous our invites got lost in the mail. The venue was adorned with pink balloons and streamers as guests broke out their best dance moves to classic songs from the early 2000s, including Kelis's "Milkshake," Britney Spears's "I'm a Slave 4 U," Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl," and Beyoncé's "Crazy in Love," to name a few.

Queen Beyoncé has been killing the music video game (as a solo artist) since 2003, when the iconic visuals for "Crazy in Love" came out and we all collectively exclaimed "hot daaamn!" As her music develops through the years, Beyoncé continues to own, flaunt, and be proud of her sexuality (as she should!) and works every inch of her killer body in everything she does. Obviously, someone as crazy talented as her is going to create an endless list of amazing videos ("Single Ladies" is a classic), but we're calling these 10 videos her sexiest so far. Pour yourself a cool glass of lemonade, because it's about to get too hot in here.

It's hard to imagine a time before Jay-Z and Beyoncé were the "Crazy in Love" Carters, but after nearly 18 years of being hip-hop's most powerful couple, we're finally hearing the story of how they met. At Coachella, Beyoncé gave the performance she should have given at the Super Bowl. Granted, she had an hour and 45 minutes to work with at the desert festival Saturday night, versus only 13 minutes to work with at that gig five years ago. But if the network, NFL, Ravens, 49ers and their fans had seen what we saw at the Empire Polo Grounds, surely they would have agreed by acclimation to, you know, just put the third quarter off by an hour and a half.
Part of the brilliance of Saturday’s set was that it was more of a half-time show than her half-time show, in that she took the marching band that has been persona non grata at the Bowl for years and built a 105-minute performance around overpacked horn charts, glorified drum majorettes and nonstop drumline insanity. Who would’ve guessed the missing ingredients needed to ratchet her...
