We never can say goodbye, and that is especially true when it comes to beloved TV shows. The post-finale spinoff has always been a popular way to keep a franchise going.
In recent decades, some of these spinoffs have been just as good as the original: I would lead with “Frasier,” out of “Cheers,” of course, which put Kelsey Grammer’s character front and center, making him just as iconic as Ted Danson’s Sam Malone. And “Better Call Saul,” an idea that began as a bit of a lark when “Breaking Bad” was ending. Of course, Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould wound up creating something richer — a show led by Bob Odenkirk and Rhea Seehorn that went to dramatically dense places no one could have predicted. It’s an immediate spin-off all-timer. “The Good Fight” continued the legacy of “The Good Wife,” but shifted the focus to Christine Baranski.

With a hypnotic gaze, a raspy voice and the capability to effortlessly inhabit the soul of a character, the late actor, musician and activist River Phoenix was a once-in-a-generation talent. Today, he would have turned 51 years old.
While his posthumous age can be an irrelevant number to warrant a retrospective of one of the finest ever to grace the movies — especially one year after many took the opportunity to celebrate him for his 50th birthday — any day can be an opportunity to reflect upon someone with only 14 film credits who made an undeniable impact on the cinematic art form.
A life cut far too short, Phoenix’s physical manifestation with us ended in the early hours of Halloween in 1993 outside the Los Angeles nightclub The Viper Room, then-owned by actor Johnny Depp. Present at the time was his girlfriend and “The Thing Called Love” co-star Samantha Mathis, his sister Rain...

The soundtrack to one of comedy’s classic shows is out Friday. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, yadda, yadda, yadda.
The Seinfeld Soundtrack spotlights music from the show’s nine seasons and 180 episodes. The score was carefully curated by the show’s composer, Jonathan Wolff, who selected songs specifically with fans in mind. Wolff’s resume includes composing music for Will & Grace, Married with Children, Reba, Who’s the Boss, and Saved by the Bell: The College Years.
For the Seinfeld collection, such popular scenes as “Cable Guy vs. Kramer,” “Jerry Vs. Newman Chase” and “Rochelle, Rochelle the Musical” are revived, as are three different versions of the show’s theme song.
Wolff answered a few Deadline questions about the music and how it played into the making of the hit comedy.

It seems like it’d be easy to really get by on a kiss like that for 20 years. Yeah, totally. But asking for another one when you have a wife and two kids seems like it might get you into a little bit of trouble. Patrick Fabian had that message for Tiffani Amber Thiessen not that long ago when it came to the question of that kiss during Saved By the Bell: The College Years. Does anyone even remember that part of the show anymore? Saved By the Bell was an extremely popular teen show that enjoyed massive success and

Mario Lopez, host of CBS’ “Candy Crush,” isn’t shy about cheering for the contestants on his new game show. “I get very invested, and I root for them,” Lopez told TheWrap. “There’s no better feeling than giving people a significant amount of money that could really help changes their lives, so that’s the coolest part about it.” The “Extra” anchor said it was a no-brainer for him to take part in the show that’s based on the popular mobile game and hands out $100K during each episode. Before I started watching Fox's Pitch, I wasn't the biggest fan of beards. They're scratchy. They look like they're full of crumbs. Do they smell? Then, I watched the first episode of the sports drama. In addition to giving me a strong and complex female character (Ginny Baker, the first woman to play Major League Baseball), a crazy twist, and a reason to finally get into baseball, it has also gifted me with an unexpected surprise: Mark-Paul Gosselaar's glorious beard. It's an established fact that Gosselaar is aging like a fine wine, and the facial hair he sports while playing good-natured catcher Mike Lawson has only helped his cause. In all honesty, Gosselaar hasn't looked this hot since Saved by the Bell: The College Years (sorry, Franklin and Bash fans). While I busy myself looking for lumberjack appreciation groups on Facebook, please enjoy the best photos of Gosselaar and his beard,...

Mark-Paul Gosselaar is known to many television fans as Zack Morris. However, the actor has proven himself to be quite the talented artist appearing on several popular TV shows since ending his four-year run on Saved by the Bell (five if you count the one awful season of Saved by the Bell: The College Years). Earlier this year, Gosselaar reprised his role as that lovable high school schemer on an episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon alongside co-stars Mario Lopez, Elizabeth Berkley, Tiffani Theissen, and Dennis Haskins. Also, two months ago, the 41-year-old welcomed his fourth child into the world. Sadly, Gosselaar’s latest television adventure, the lawyer comedy Franklin & Bash, was not picked up for a fifth season by TNT. So let’s take a look back and reminisce about the television career of this awesome actor. The Guest-Starring Years (1986-1988) Mark-Paul Gosselaar actually got his start in television…...

Saved By the Bell twist! It seems Dustin Diamond wasn't invited to the big reunion on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon after all. Diamond, who played Samuel "Screech" Powers for years across Saved By the Bell, Saved By the Bell: The College Years, Saved By the Bell: The New Class and TV movies, was missing from the February reunion of Mario Lopez, Elizabeth Berkley, Tiffani Thiessen and Mark-Paul Gosselaar. At the time, his attorney told E! News he had "prior commitments," but in a new interview, Diamond admits he wasn't invited. "It would have been fun, but I don't see it as a personal insult," Diamond told a local Fox affiliate in a new interview. The actor recently pleaded...

Can you believe that it has been over 25 years since the first episode of Saved by the Bell aired on television back on August 20, 1989? It would be even longer than that if you include the Good Morning Miss Bliss episodes that aired on the Disney Channel from 1988 – 1989. Saved by the Bell grew to become the most popular live action children’s show on Saturday morning and started the television careers of Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Mario Lopez, and Tiffani Thiessen. The show would last through 1993 and would have two spin-off shows. Saved by the Bell: The College Years aired on primetime and was cancelled after 18 episodes, while Saved by the Bell: The New Class would last for seven seasons, though the cast would continue to change every year. You may think you know a lot about this classic sitcom, but here are ten things you may…

Saved by the Bell was a hugely popular Saturday morning show that ran from 1989 – 1993 on NBC. At first, the sitcom was doomed for cancellation. But after being on the air for several months, ratings started to increase and the young stars turned into household names. The show has been off the air for 20 years, but did have two spin-offs. Saved by the Bell: The College Years was featured on primetime and was yanked from the schedule after 18 episodes. Saved by the Bell: The New Class was the staple in the Teen NBC lineup until 2000 and paved the way for other successful teen shows including Hang Time, City Guys, and California Dreams. So what have the actors that played schemer Zack Morris, homecoming queen Kelly Kapowksi, football star A.C. Slater, class president Jessie Spano, fashionista Lisa Turtle, and nerd Screech Powers been up since the show concluded? We took a look into their…...

Gentlemen, start your dick jokes.
In a glorious coincidence, this week’s primetime schedule featured not one but two TV episodes inspired by the tragedy of serial sexter Anthony Weiner. Both hours — Wednesday’s Law & Order: Svu and Thursday’s Scandal – featured stoic wives, copious crotch shots, and goofy noms de perv – but which best captured the essence of the man who used to be the next mayor of New York City? If you’re a child of the 1980’s, you’ll likely remember Ami Dolenz for her roles on films like Can’t Buy Me Love, She’s Out of Control, and Miracle Beach and guest spots on Silver Spoons, Webster, and Saved by the Bell: The College Years. She even played Sloan in the short-lived TV adaptation of Ferris Bueller. The actress, however, is no stranger to the horror genre as she’s had parts in films from Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings to the greatest (and quite possibly only) movie ever made about giant killer ticks, Ticks. Tony Randel’s 1993 flick is an absolute blast and an obvious time capsule of early 90’s movie clichés, in the very best way possible.
With Olive Films’ new Blu-ray of Ticks recently hitting stores, FEARnet sat down with Dolenz to discuss her memories of the film, Seth Green’s hair, and creepy crawlies.

The Internet freaked out last fall when it was announced that Tgif favorite Boy Meets World was getting a spinoff, Girl Meets World. But apparently that was only the beginning for ‘90s-loving nostalgia fans.
In an interview with TMZ, Saved by the Bell’s Mark-Paul Gosselaar, a.k.a Zach Morris, a.k.a your boyfriend in 1992 said, “We’ll see how [Girl Meets World does], maybe we’ll do a reunion as well.” Now, to be fair, this was a total off-the-cuff remark with absolutely no network promise behind it. But this is the Internet! We can dream! Long live The Max!

Veteran star-studded film “crosses the line” in all the right ways, pushes into controversial territory of what is wrong and funny
It's not often that one is able to see a collection of iconic stars in such a different light, but Hotel Arthritis provides just that opportunity. The film finds ways to “push the boundaries” of what is wrong and what is funny by meshing the bizarre with the fun, the old with the young, and the comedy with its horror.

Hotel Arthritis is a comedy/horror ready for its cult audience about a group of retirement home residents living in fear of a masked killer who stalks the halls of their creepy home.

We have been getting our boxes of tissues ready for next week’s season finale of Glee — that show already brings us to tears, imagine what would happen if we had to say goodbye to most of its graduating seniors? — while crossing our fingers that whatever Ryan Murphy and company come up with for season four, it doesn’t become Saved by the Bell: The College Years. Now that bits and pieces of the plan have been revealed at the Fox Upfronts, we’re feeling pretty relieved and excited, actually. (Though there will probably still be crying, of course.) Network chief Kevin Reilly revealed that the show will follow a handful of the seniors to a performing arts school in New York (though we don’t know if this is the famed Nyata or a rival, like Julliard?), and there will be some kind of “show-within-a-show” format.

Given the nature of the film, and the nature of a sequel that makes no sense given its title, the news that one of the actors from The Last Exorcism is coming back for the next installment could be considered spoiler-ish, so proceed with caution. The first film was a mixed bag that erred on the good side with strong performances from Patrick Fabian (who finally broke out of his Saved By the Bell: The College Years pigeonhole), the newcomer Ashley Bell, Iris Bahr, Tony Bentley as a calm-headed pastor, and Caleb Landry Jones and Louis Herthum in hard-wrought roles as the only family of the affected girl. The strangeness of making The Next Last Exorcism aside, especially considering the ending, Bloody Disgusting is reporting that (at least) one of these actors will be back. That actor is Ashely Bell, who was hellacious as the young woman stricken by the devil. It...

We all loved Zack Morris. That scheming smile. His blond-streaked hair. His penchant for color blocking. And, of course, that rad, cutting-edge cell phone. In the minds of all children of the ’90s, the only way to be cuter and cooler than Zack Morris was to be named Jonathan Taylor Thomas. But since I began watching TBS’ Saved By the Bell reruns about a year back, I’ve grown to develop a deeper appreciation for its less heralded characters. There’s Slater, the dimpled army transplant with a soft spot for strong women. There’s Jessie, the caffeine pill-popping feminist...

Actor Mark-paul Gosselaar and his estranged wife are seeking to share custody of their two children following their split last year.
The former Saved by the Bell and NYPD Blue star filed for divorce from his wife of 13 years, actress Lisa Ann Russell, last June.
In his divorce papers, Gosselaar requested joint custody of their two children, Michael, seven, and four year old Ava.
And it seems their split will be an amicable one - in papers filed last month, Russell is also seeking joint custody, meaning the stars won't need to battle through the courts over their kids.
Russell is also seeking spousal support from the actor, who she met on the set of Saved by the Bell: The College Years.

Between the 90-minute episode of Glee and the series premiere of The Voice, it seems like everyone will be singing on prime time television tonight. Except, presumably the cast of The Good Wife. But, again, just a presumption.

Before Patrick Fabian turned heads as a quasi-corrupt reverend named Cotton Marcus in last year's horror film The Last Exorcism, he was probably best known for playing Zack Morris' "cool" college teacher, Professor Lasky, on Saved By the Bell: The College Years. Or maybe from some of the dozens of other television credits he's accumulated since coming to Hollywood and waiting tables at a place that just so happened to be right near an old Oscar venue.

HollywoodNews.com: You often hear about former child stars who feel like their early work on a TV show typecast them for life and thwarted their career.
Mark-Paul Gosselaar, who we first got to know as Zack Morris on ‘Saved by the Bell,’ is not one of them.
He played Zack for seven years (starting with 1988′s ‘Good Morning, Miss Bliss’ – as the show was originally called – right through ‘Saved by the Bell: The College Years’ in 1994. He was the central character of a show that also launched future stars Mario Lopez, Tiffani Thiessen and Elizabeth Berkley.
Once it left the air, Mark-Paul kept busy doing TV movies (‘The Princess and the Marine’), a feature film (‘Dead Man on Campus’) and starred in two short-lived TV series (‘Hyperion Bay’ and ‘D.C’.)
Then in 2001 came the breakthrough role of Det. John Clark on ABC’s ‘NYPD Blue.

With all the rehearsing for Sectionals and frequent trips to Breadstix, it’s easy to forget that the kids of McKinley High School are actually students, who should be graduating in a couple years (well, in Brittany’s case, that date is Tbd). Ryan Murphy has begun to address Glee’s future by revealing plans to routinely add new students to the mix (what is this, Menudo?), rather than prolong current characters’ high school existence. “Every year we’re going to populate a new group,” Murphy told Australia’s Herald Sun. “There’s nothing more depressing than a high schooler with a bald spot.
