Interesting!!

I remember seeing this film about a cormorant (type of bird) seeking attention from this actor played by Ralph Fiennes whom adopts it. This film has a really bizarre twist with a strange relationship between man and bird. At the time I saw this film back in 1993 I did not know who this actor was, I recommend this film to whomever likes dark stories, but I warn everyone about its content for there is violence towards animals and I did not approve of that.

I remember I've watched this movie when I was little kid, no idea why my parents left me to, I still connect the bird to the movie and I hate it! This is sick movie with twisted story and I don't know who payed to pe published such a thing. Well, I guess if you have money you can publish anything.

A Story Of Obsession/Possession

Warning: Spoilers
SPOILERS HEREIN

WAIT FOR IT

YOU WERE WARNED

HERE IT COMES

It is suggested or hinted that the old uncle who wills the house in wild and witchy Wales to young writer Ralph Fiennes and his family (on the condition that they care for his pet cormorant perpetually) was some sort of wizard or sorcerer, and that the cormorant was his "familiar," so to speak. In any case Fiennes soon falls under the creature's spell, developing a meaningful relationship with it that comes at the expense of his relationship with his wife and child, and is dangerous to them (especially the child) as well.

Slow paced but atmospheric and deeply textured.

I love this film!

Hello: I loved this film. Unfortunately, the night it was on A & E, I had to leave one hour into the film to pick up a friend at the train station. For years, I have been trying to locate this haunting beautiful tale. Does anyone know where I can purchase it? This is truly good film making. Worth seeing.

Ralph Fiennes delivers an impeccable performance and the shots of England are dazzling. The pace is perfect, and the language of vision is employed over dialogue in most parts.

I would suggest this film for ages 12 and up, and I hope that it will be available on DVD asap. I will buy it, and I would encourage others too.
