This is the unbelievable but true story of Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka. What would a bubbly blonde give the love of her life for Christmas - how about her virginity? And if she is not a virgin - how about her sister's virginity? And if that necessitates the poor girl being drugged before being raped, and dying as a result, well, that's life.
Although Paul Bernardo is rightly despised, it is his now ex-wife Karla who has become the fixation of the public's hatred, and not just because she was given an incredibly lenient twelve year sentence for complicity in the rape and manslaughter of her own sister, the rape, torture and murder of two other teenage girls, and becoming the willing partner-in-crime of the man who was already a serial rapist when they met.
There is no wickedness like the wickedness of a woman, and there are some who believe Karla to be as bad as if not worse than Bernardo. Certainly if she wasn't to begin with she morphed into something at least nearly as bad; one thinks of Fred and Rose West.
This documentary covers the story of these two unspeakables fairly comprehensively, although it does not mention that the deal with the Devil was brokered by Marion Boyd, the feminist Attorney General of Ontario.
