Although plenty of spooky movies and shows would do a twist where the main character turns out to be dead the whole time, none of them handled it quite as gracefully as "The Twilight Zone" did back in 1960. The season 1 episode follows Nan (Inger Stevens), a young woman driving alone across the country who finds herself being stalked by a strange, unsettling stranger. The guy teleports from place to place, defying all known laws of physics, and it doesn't seem like his intentions are good.
It's only at the very end, when Nan tries to call her mother, that we figure out what's going on: Nan actually died right before the start of the episode from the minor car accident we saw her brushing off. She was told in that first scene she was lucky she hadn't died in the incident; at the end when Nan hears about her mother...

In the Marvel vs. DC debate, it's important to remember that the latter had a headstart of several decades. Some of DC Comics' most popular characters were introduced on the page in the late 1930s and early 1940s, allowing them to stand at the very base of the pop culture firmament. Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman both enjoyed massive success on the page and on the screen before the hotshot company Marvel entered its Golden Age in earnest. Marvel's star characters Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, the Incredible Hulk, et al, didn't hit shelves until the early '60s. While Marvel found its footing, Batman was starring in one of the best superhero movies ever made.
In cinemas, it took Marvel equally long to find a toehold. Films like "Superman" and "Batman" were overwhelmingly huge for decades, while Marvel had to be content with the success of "The Incredible Hulk" on television.

More than 30 years after it first began, Neil Gaiman’s epic fantasy comic series The Sandman is finally getting a screen adaptation, with a big budget TV show headed to Netflix. Gaiman recently confirmed on social media that production has secretly begun following a Covid-19-related delay, meaning we should get some casting and character details soon. In the meantime, though, a new report claims that a bunch of iconic DC characters will appear in the show.
Scooper Mikey Sutton of Geekosity has shared that his intel is pointing to John Constantine turning up in Sandman‘s first season. The tipster writes that fans should expect a reboot of the Hellblazer, meaning Netflix won’t be attempting a crossover with the Arrowverse and getting Matt Ryan on board. And, just in case you’re wondering, Sutton confirms it won’t be Keanu Reeves, either.

According to writer Neil Gaiman, production has now started on the Netflix live-action TV series "Sandman", adapting DC Comic's 1998, 75-issue supernatural Vertigo title, created by Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg, depicting the 'Dream of the Endless', who rules over the world of dreams:
"...'Dream', aka 'Sandman', 'Morpheus', 'Oneiros', the 'Shaper', the 'Shaper of Form', 'Lord of the Dreaming', the 'Dream King', 'Dream-Sneak' (!), the 'Cat of Dreams', 'Murphy', 'Kai'ckul' and 'Lord L'Zoril', is the anthropomorphic personification of dreams.
"In the beginning, Morpheus is entrapped by an occult ritual and held prisoner for 70 years. He finally escapes into the modern day, avenging himself upon his captors and rebuilding his kingdom, which has fallen into disrepair in his absence.
"His initial haughty and often cruel manner begins to soften, but the challenge of undoing past sins and changing old ways is an enormous one for a being who has been set...

Sometimes things don’t work the first time around, or the second, or even the third. But it would appear that when it comes to Neil Gaiman’s Sandman series that Netflix is willing to spend the money it will take in order to make this finally happen. For years now the series has been more than a little popular and it’s been widely desired when it comes to seeing an on-screen representation, but the direction hasn’t been quite as easy to follow as some might think. Gaiman can write a great story but the difficulty in following his words has been

It’s been more than 16 years since the release of Steven T. Seagle’s House of Secrets, and the Vertigo title is getting an all new hardcover omnibus release this week. I recently had a chance to interview Steven, who talked about revisiting the story after all these years, working with Teddy Kristiansen, new material that’s includes in the hardcover edition, and the possibility of a live-action version of House of Secrets:
The first issue of your House of Secrets was released in 1996. Was reprinting all of the issues together in this new hardcover omnibus something DC approached you about or was it something you went to them with?
Steven T. Seagle: Back when the series first came out, DC/Vertigo seemed to be reprinting everything. House Of Secrets got one volume out called Foundation, and even though it sold as well as some other things that got more volumes later,...
