Short and gritty. Worth the effort.
Olhado22 March 1999
This is a relatively short film, running time 58 minutes. Shows a fairly gritty side of Japan. The basic plot is very simple and, to be honest, not very well developed.

I found it more interesting to see the living conditions and scenery, as well as seeing how much of my basic Japanese I remembered, rather than for the plot itself.

Overall the film is short enough to make it worth the effort of viewing.

Short, Well-Made, and HOT

This is an excellent example of the japanese 'pink' films. Short, well-acted and directed, and quite sexy in it's own, modest way, without being graphic. Something Americans don't seem to be able to do very well. A nice little soft-core film, besides being just a good movie.

A breakthrough in Japanese history!

What no one ever though happened. A Japanese movie about boys being gay, uncensored, and explicit. It is a hit: the movie is not only a must for Japanese gays struggling with their coming out, but also a great drama. The cast plays very natural and it is a movie to watch over and over again without getting bored. The use of light and darkness makes it a kind of Rembrandt-like picture.

sweet, love story from Japan --- spoilers ---

Warning: Spoilers
SPOILERS... it's kind of a gay "much ado about nothing", Japanese style. and made in 1994, at that. extra credit for doing this way back then, when it probably wasn't okay to make a film like this. The trials and tribulations of two, young guys in Japan. They seem to be pretty well matched, but one wants to have a fling with another guy, so its a story about the 48 hours of hashing that out. They talk with their friends, have it out, but there IS a warm, fuzzy ending. very cute. Written and directed by Hiroyuki Oki. Would definitely like to see more of their work. I definitely recommend watching this one... only 58 minutes long... currently showing on the FilmRise channel. Has some technical issues, but the story is riveting. Well done.
