Crab Cake Detective Gumbo
georgewilliamnoble6 March 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This TV movie plays out like a pilot for a TV show that never made it to the small screen. Our Hero played a little to casually by Louis Gossett Junior one time oscar winner wants to buy a cafe but in the mean time plays private eye for big time lawyer played with charisma by ex magnificent seven member James Coburn who had some years earlier sprung our hero Ray Alexander out of 4 years in stir. The movie takes time out to explain all of this. Before long the film has settled in to frankly a boring who done it? However with the help of unlikely side kicks our PI solves the case and saves a poor woman from a cruel frame up. This is a lazy dull entertainment that we have seen it all so many times before formula TV wallpaper. The San Francisco settings help a bit, but not enough to save it. This is strictly for long wet winter afternoons, that nobody wants to remember.
