Sex & Nudity

  • A boy tries to touch a girl's thigh, but she stops him. It's implied that the same girl is raped or molested by a villain. We see Julie in revealing outfits throughout the entire series. At one point, Mr. Gone is seen running around naked (his genitals are silhouetted out).

Violence & Gore

  • Infrequent violence and bloody images. Maxx smashes a woman hostage that turns out to be a dummy, Maxx is shot with a pistol but isn't injured, a crackhead threatens two boys with a knife, a girl threatens to kill herself but is stopped, several sharp toothed creatures are smashed into bluish black stains by Maxx, a giant monster is impaled with a large stick (some blood is seen oozing out of the wound), a miniature version of Mr. Gone is briefly seen being decapitated by Julie (the blood and the severed head fly across the screen) and a rabbit carcass is seen frequently.

Profanity

  • damn, hell, and ass are used a few times.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • one character is a crackhead (we never see him do anything) and a man is seen smoking a cigarette.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Several surreal sequences (Maxx and Julie melting, bloody images, and Julie's flashbacks are very unsettling and creepy.)
