- Towards the beginning of the movie, a man and woman are moaning are beginning to have sex with their clothes on. They are interrupted and realize there is a child watching. The man buttons his pants and no nudity is seen.
- A man's wife is seen having sex with another man in black and white; the woman's breasts and buttocks are shown.
- A woman is shown naked in bed, she is covered by the blanket but we see bare shoulders.
- While a man and woman dance at a house party, the man repeatedly grabs the woman's butt.
- A young girl tells a woman about seeing her father be intimate with a woman.
- A man and woman who recently met start making out.
- A young girl taunts her older sister when she finds out she has gotten her first period.
- A recurring theme in the movie is the older sister's going through puberty and her emerging sexual feelings. In one scene, she appears wearing make up and clothes which are not age appropriate and is scolded by her mother.
- A doctor examines a female patient in her bedroom. It is implied that they have sex.
- A man and a woman flirt with each other. She is sitting on a counter and he stands between her legs and touches her thigh.

- A young boy lies on the ground after being hit by a bus.
- A teenage daughter chases her younger sister and knocks her down. She climbs on top of her and starts to choke her, but is pulled off quickly.
- A man shoots and kills his wife's lover in front of a young girl. It is dark and the view is interrupted, but the shot is heard and the man falls down.
- A man slaps his daughter while drunk and immediately regrets it.
- A girl is almost run over by a bus
- A woman tells a story about her lover who shot her husband. The man is shown pointing the gun at his chest, the the shot is not shown.

- A woman smokes while walking and talking with a young girl. The young girl takes the cigarette and holds it like the woman, and then tries to smoke it but the woman take the cigarette away.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

- A woman practices voodoo and fortunetelling, but does not use it for evil means.
- Several arguments throughout. Once, while a husband and wife argue, their child who hears them cries.
- The film opens with a woman saying "The summer I killed my father I turned ten years old" and the film climaxes with his death. Those scenes are fairly intense and may be mildly frightening.
- There are several scenes involving clairvoyance which may be frightening.
- A young girl cries and is sad that her older sister is leaving.
- A woman is told that she is cursed, and all of her husbands will die while married to her.
- The death of a young boy and several people celebrating because of it may be difficult for some viewers.
- The appearance of a witch in white face paint may unease younger viewers.

- Towards the end a girl accuses her father of having kissed her in a sexual manner. We see two different versions of this event, one where he tries to force himself on her and another where she kisses him in a sexual manner and he fights her off.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- The scene where a father and daughter kiss is quite disturbing.
