Marvel’s X-Men ‘97 has been receiving rave reviews ever since it began airing. The show is a revival of the popular ‘90s show X-Men: The Animated Series, with many of the original voice actors returning. The show was created by Beau DeMayo, who was fired from the series a few weeks before its airing.
While no proper reason has been given for his dismissal, DeMayo took to social media to address questions regarding the show and reveal trivia. He reportedly mentioned that the show was partly based on the first script he had ever written, which was a fan-fiction sequel to Hugh Jackman’s X-Men.

X-Men ’97 has been diving into a host of storylines from the comics, not refraining from going towards the more complex plot points that make an appearance in X-Men comics. Characters from the original animated series have been making a comeback in X-Men ’97. This has also allowed a slew of actors from the original series to return to their roles. However there is one actor who has returned in a completely different form, but still holds the fate of his character from X-Men ’97 in his hands.
A.J. LoCascio’s Gambit in X-Men ’97
Chris Potter originally voiced Gambit in X-Men: The Animated Series, a role that A.J. LoCascio has now taken over. However, the character met his end in Episode 5, Remember It, where the world witnessed an assault on Genosha at the hands of what seems to be Mister Sinister. Fox’s X-Men movies may have brought some of the most fan-favorite mutants to live-action, but they have struggled as far as fan reactions go. Often criticized for one thing or the other, particularly over poorly written characters to time inconsistencies, fans and critics have found several reasons to remain unsatisfied.
Hugh Jackman as Logan / Wolverine in X-Men: The Last Stand
Undoubtedly, the movies’ greatest gift to fans has been casting Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. While his portrayal of the iconic character has left many captivated, he has often overshadowed other X-Men characters. And one Avengers: Endgame writer has a bone to pick with Fox movies for stealing one X-Men’s spotlight and handing it over to Wolverine.

X-Men ’97 has had massive success among the Marvel fans. The animated series, which is a revival and continuation of the ’90s X-Men show, has generated immense hype. However, it has also attracted very strong criticism regarding the character of Rogue. The fans did not appreciate how the show pulled off some insane de-sexualization of the curvaceous figure of Rogue.
Rogue in X-Men ’97
Since the first trailer dropped, many fans who found their first love in Rogue in the 90s complained on the internet that her physique was drastically changed in the new animation. In some scenes, Rogue’s butt looked extremely flat. However, the Rogue voice actress, Lenore Zann, seems to have found the perfect way to address the criticism by paying homage to the iconic “America’s Ass.”

In a world where Superhero Cartoons and Disney features dominated the TV scene, Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball Z helped anime to make it into the mainstream. While anime and manga were already introduced in the United States, and shows like Astro Boy or Voltron were already popular, it wasn’t until Toriyama’s Dragon Ball successor came about that anime became a staple part of popular culture and helped lay the foundation of the current anime frenzy.

And as the series turns 35, fans remember the late Japanese manga artist and character designer, and hail Toriyama for forever changing the entertainment industry with his revolutionizing work.

The recent trailer for ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is packed with nods to comic stories and tons of cameos. In the movie, Deadpool teams up with the Tva to save his reality from falling apart.
He tries to convince Wolverine to join him, but it seems like Wolverine isn’t eager. The film will introduce Cassandra Nova as the main villain and explore the Multiversal Theme of the MCU.
The movie is generating a lot of buzz, which can be both positive and negative. On the bright side, it’s likely to attract huge crowds to theaters. However, the downside is that fans have extremely high expectations and numerous theories, making it impossible to meet all of them. Eventually, this hype might lead to disappointment.
Even industry insiders are fueling the hype. Director Matthew Vaughn dubbed the movie the “MCU savior,” and Deadpool creator Liefeld hailed it as “the best comic movie of all time,...

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ trailer recently dropped, and we’ve seen everything from nods to comic storylines to an overwhelming amount of cameos about to appear in the movie.
The movie sees Deadpool as he is set to return to his crime-fighting tendencies after he is recruited by the Tva to stop his reality from collapsing. Wade will attempt to talk Wolverine into helping him, but judging by the trailer Wolverine will be more than reluctant. The movie will introduce Cassandra Nova to the MCU as the primary villain as well as continue the Multiversal Theme of the MCU.
The thing with the movie is that there is a massive amount of publicity surrounding it, and that can be both a good and a bad thing. The good thing is that obviously, it’s going to pull the masses into cinemas, the bad thing? Fans have expectations that are through the...

The X-Men: The Animated Series was a masterpiece in its finest form, and Larry Houston was one of the producers at the helm of it. Throughout the five seasons that it aired, fans were deeply in love with almost every story arc that the 1992 series decided to adapt. But even after such tremendous success with it, Houston still has one major regret about the show.

This regret is about his not exploring the character arc of a super-powerful yet long-forgotten hero, who was even more closely related to Scott Summers than what the non-comic book readers may expect. This character was Alex Summers, the younger brother of Scott and a mutant himself, best known as ‘Havoc.’ And as it turns out, Houston has immense regrets about it.

Marvel fans have been eagerly awaiting more female-led superhero flicks to highlight the powerful women of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a world where male superheroes predominate. However, recent reports have suggested that the future of such projects could very well be at risk, making fans frustrated and disappointed.
Teyonah Parris’ character Monica Rambeau would have had her own solo MCU series if Brie Larson’s The Marvels had not been met with such dismal critical reception. Although Monica Rambeau made a fleeting appearance in Nia DaCosta’s The Marvels (2023), the character made her official debut in Disney+’s WandaVision.

However, it’s been alleged that Marvel scrapped her solo project after the Larson-starrer flick underperformed at the box office, triggering an enraged discussion among viewers regarding the challenges faced by female-driven superhero flicks.

“Deadpool and Wolverine” is set to be one of the biggest films of the summer, and fan theories are already flying around the internet regarding what Marvel could have in store for what looks like a bonkers trip across a multiverse populated by characters previously owned by 20th Century Fox and now owned by Disney. Whatever goes down in the sequel, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, prior knowledge of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will not be a mandatory requirement in order to enjoy it. That’s according to the film’s director, Shawn Levy.

We’ve been hearing a lot lately about how ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is gonna be a big deal for the MCU. Director Vaughn said it’s gonna save the MCU, and even Deadpool’s creator thinks it’s gonna be the best comic book movie ever, with awesome action on par with ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier.’
We’ll have to wait a few months to see if all that talk is true. But for now, we’re keeping an eye on ‘X-Men ’97,’ a new Marvel Studios project focusing on mutants. It’s a revival of the old ‘X-Men: The Animated Series,’ and it’s been a huge success so far, getting really high ratings.
Beau DeMayo, the writer for ‘X-Men ’97’, got fired just before the Season 1 premiere, for reasons unknown. But the show was a huge hit with fans, so it got renewed for Season 2, and they’re working on Season 3 now.

Marvel has been through a lot of ups and downs post-Endgame. After a series of bombs at the box office, things are finally looking hopeful for the comic book giant after taking a back-to-basics approach. Bringing back the beloved X-Men cartoon from the 1990s was a slick move, as it brought back a lot of fans who had lost faith after consecutive failures like The Marvels and She-Hulk.

When Disney finally acquired 21st Century Fox in 2019, fans were either totally excited or, conversely, anxious about how the Mouse would handle the Marvel characters. Of course, this was the peak of the MCU with the release of Avengers: Endgame, and so Marvel Studios had its own concerns about the future trajectory of their properties. But since the deal included the acquisition of characters incredibly important to the franchise, from X-Men and the Fantastic Four to Deadpool and Galactus, it was only a matter of time.
Disney took its time, and now, five years later, things are starting to take off: a new Deadpool movie is coming soon, featuring Wolverine working with the title character, a new Fantastic Four is in development, and right now, X-Men '97 is making a lot of noise as a sequel to the X-Men animated series that ran on Fox Kids from 1992 to 1997.

There’s only one hiccup: Iron Man died in 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame.” But the MCU’s ever-expanding multiverse certainly leaves the door open for Downey’s return
In a recent interview with GamesRadar+, “Avengers: Endgame” directors Joe and Anthony Russo expressed some confusion over Downey’s Iron Man popping back up in the MCU after they killed the character off so heroically in their record-breaking film.

It’s easy to think of the kind of stories that get told in the comic book world as just one genre or tone, but as seen below, graphic novels, comic strips, and other sequential art have offered up an incredible range of storytelling. And these stories have been inspiring great TV shows for years, even before superhero stories dominated the box office.
There were plenty of options that nearly made the list, like the WB’s “Smallville,” which squandered its early potential after running just a few seasons too long. Because one of the most exciting things about these stories is that there’s a rich variety to choose from.

In March 2019, Marvel Studios regained the film rights to X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool after Disney’s acquisition of Fox for $71.3 billion.
These characters are planned to be integrated into the MCU. In October 2020, the ‘X-Men’ and ‘Fantastic Four’ films were rebranded as “Marvel Legacy films” on Disney+. Marvel has decided to tease its fan base with the revival of a nostalgic show titled, X-Men ’97. The original show ran for five seasons, from 1982 to 1997, and it has become a massive hit among the original fans of the mutant franchise. The rebooted series continues from where the previous show had ended 27 years ago.

Needless to say, the show managed to grab the attention of the fans from the very first episode of the show. Thanks to the show’s self-containing creative narrative, and Beau DeMayo’s creative genius, that has brought the show to life. Now, new reports have emerged stating that Marvel is looking for a new writer to work on the reboot of the live-action mutant film, and fans have already decided the right candidate for the job.

Following the success of X-Men ’97, Marvel reportedly announced their decision to work on multiple consecutive seasons to hold onto the hype and fans’ excitement. The show’s producer, Brad Winderbaum, had previously announced that the show is looking forward to at least two more seasons of the sequel series.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has grown increasingly large over the last 15 years, with countless storylines and characters weaving in and out of the franchise. To the casual Marvel fan, this might be a little overwhelming, but Deadpool and Wolverine director Shawn Levy doesn’t think that will be a problem with his movie.
In addition to drawing upon 15 years of MCU history, it’s expected that Deadpool and Wolverine will also touch upon 20th Century Fox’s Marvel movies. Levy told the Associated Press that he didn’t want fans to have to do any homework going in.
“I was a good student in school. I’ll do my homework as an adult. But I am definitely not looking to do homework when I go to the movies,” Levy said. “I very much made this film with certainly a healthy respect and gratitude towards the rabid fan base that has...

For superhero fans of a certain age, there was nothing quite like waking up early on Saturday mornings to tune in for a new episode of "X-Men: The Animated Series." With fast-paced soap opera storytelling, snappy one-liners, and the most radical animation style on TV, "X-Men: The Animated Series" was the perfect gateway to get kids hooked on all things Marvel.
Now, over 25 years since the original series went off the air, Marvel and Disney+ have continued the saga with "X-Men '97," a series so good that it's already being hailed as one of the best new shows of the year. What makes "X-Men '97" such a triumph is not just its perfectly executed nostalgia, but because the show has evolved to relate to the sensibilities of our 2024 world, without becoming anachronistic in the process. Rejoice, casual moviegoers and other normal people who don't spend every waking moment watching superhero movies! Remember when the #ItsAllConnected branding campaign of the Marvel Cinematic Universe popularized the idea of everyone putting in dozens (if not hundreds) of hours of homework in order to watch the next installment? Which meant we were soon inundated with a rising tide of crossover movies -- some of which weren't even in the same continuity or part of the same franchise, like Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire's respective Peter Parkers teaming up in "Spider-Man: No Way Home" -- that only made sense if audiences had watched several other movies beforehand? Well, one loudmouthed mercenary with a habit of breaking the fourth wall might just shatter that annoying little trend in a big way later this year.

Episode 5 of "X-Men '97" — "Remember It" — may very well go down as the most shocking TV moment of 2024. Adapting the dark "X-Men" comic storyline "E Is For Extinction" by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely, a giant Sentinel razed the new mutant homeland of Genosha, killing thousands, if not millions.
Episode 6, "Lifedeath Part 2," took a break focusing instead on the absent Storm and Professor X, but episode 7, "Bright Eyes," explores the fallout of Genosha. It picks up about a week later when the X-Men are hosting a rainy funeral for Gambit. They go back to Genosha to continue searching for more survivors. They find one: Emma Frost, White Queen of the Hellfire Club.
Emma, who was part of Genosha's short-lived ruling council, is a telepath. During the attack, she unlocked a second mutation to turn her skin diamond hard, so she survived being crushed under rubble.

Disney+’s X-Men ’97 is doing everything right, from capturing the nostalgia that made fans fall in love with the 1992 animated series to their depiction of favourite characters like Magneto, Rogue, Professor Xavier, and Cyclops. For a long time, X-Men fans have had to accept that adaptations may never get right what fans loved about these comic book characters with a slew of disappointing live-action movies from Fox. While Wolverine’s focus and depiction of the bad-ass anti-hero have worked for the past two decades, some characters, like Cyclops, didn’t fare well. I'm the precise age to have been introduced to the Marvel Universe by animation and film. Back then in the bygone 2000s, superhero movies never crossed over and the best that us wee fans could hope for was, say, the X-Men playing guest star on "Spider-Man" for an episode or two. I've now evolved into a curmudgeon who thinks superhero cinema could use more individuality and less interconnectivity, but I digress.
All this is to say that "X-Men '97" episode 7, "Bright Eyes," featured the sort of brief guest appearance that would've made 10-year-old me super-excited: Rogue meets Captain America (Josh Keaton). You might recall that Cap appeared back in the original "X-Men" cartoon; the season 5 episode, "Old Soldiers," showed him and Wolverine on a mission together in World War II. We've known for two weeks that Cap would be showing up (thanks to...

Fascinatingly, X-Men ’97 is not the first show with a rumored Spider-Man cameo this year. However, it is much more likely that Marvel’s Web-head would be able to make an appearance in the X-Men successor series given that Marvel might not have to jump hoops to bring him into X-Men ’97.
Marvel famously has to share its rights with Sony when it comes to Spider-Man, splitting his rights to appear in live-action films. There was a lot of anticipation about how the character might appear in Amamzon’s Invincible, but that was quickly sidestepped thanks to the hoops the show might have to go through to make that happen.

Only under great duress is one’s mettle assessed; responses to troubling times are the litmus test of one’s character. While some possess the temperament to endure and gather themselves, there remain those too broken who easily resort to destructive paths. The massacre of Genosha has wrecked the X-Men in the worst way imaginable, and Rogue’s extreme reaction in its aftermath, as shown in the seventh episode of the season, is her coping mechanism. However, considering this as the lowest point for the mutants would be foolishness, as even worse is yet to come, which is teased by the latest episode of X-Men’97 titled ‘Bright Eyes’, as an evil mastermind plans to break the spirit of the mutants worldwide.
In the previous episode, it was revealed that Charles Xavier had actually survived Gyrich’s assassination attempt and was living in the Shi’ar Empire with his beloved Empress Lilandra.

Every Marvel fan is currently busy binging on the X-Men ’97 series. The premise of the animated series picks up where the 1990s X-Men: The Animated Series ends. The MCU series is created by Beau DeMayo. So far, seven episodes have dropped on Disney+ Hotstar. In the latest episode, ‘Bright Eyes’, the team has brought back Steve Rogers, aka Captain America.
In MCU movies, Chris Evans, who played Steve Rogers, is probably dead after Avengers: Endgame. But seeing the Cap return in X-Men ’97 made the Marvel fans happy. However, not everyone is pleased with the way they treated him in the animated series. Fans are unhappy with how the makers showed Steve’s alignment towards the government when he stood against their wrongdoings in movies. It’s a scene between Rogue (voiced by Lenore Zann) and Cap (Josh Keaton) that has got the reactions.

Gambit is alive?! Well, it seems like it!
After being chopped from the superhit animated series X-Men ’97 (Spoilers For Whoever Still Hasn’T Watched It!) it sounds like the fan-favorite Remy LeBeau will soon be gracing fans’ eyes once again. Except that this time, he won’t be animated, but would be a live-action character played by Channing Tatum!
Gambit in the comics.
As magnificent of a surprise as this may be, fans will reportedly finally get a live-action appearance of the Ragin’ Cajun in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine. This comes after recent reports about the upcoming film which reveal that Tatum will, at last, get to play the character that was taken away from him almost a decade ago, and his role won’t be restricted to just a cameo either!

Taylor Swift has conquered the world of music, and it's long been rumored that the next step in her career is the movies.
She has her own eponymous production company, for one. In 2020, she starred in the documentary "Miss Americana," and in 2021, she directed a short film adapting her song "All Too Well," starring Sadie Sink and Dylan O'Brien. Aside from a handful of supporting roles in several films, she also took the 2023 box office by storm with the "Eras Tour" concert film.
Swift has a passionate fanbase, one that is famous for finding (or creating) supposedly hidden messages across her lyrics. Now, her newly released 11th album, "The Tortured Poets Department," has whipped up a new Swiftie theory.
The last track of "The Tortured Poets Department" — "Clara Bow" — concludes with the line: "The future's bright and dazzling." Fans jumped to the obvious conclusion; of course, Swift is hinting to...

The end of the fifth episode of "X-Men '97" gave fans quite the shock. Not only did the peaceful haven of Genosha suddenly find itself under attack by a massive Tri-Sentinel Master Mold that massacred unknown numbers of mutants, but the beloved X-Men team member Gambit met his demise in a final act of heroism that stopped the tragedy from getting even worse. A week later, the end of the sixth episode revealed that it was recurring X-Men villain Mister Sinister who was behind the attack, having manipulated Bolivar Trask into activating the Sentinel strike. But as we learned in this week's seventh episode, "Bright Eyes," Sinister is just one part of the equation.
Throughout episode 7 of "X-Men '97," Rogue is trying to figure out who was responsible for the destruction on Genosha and the death of Gambit. She's out for vengeance, and in her pursuit, she encounters Captain America,...

This X-Men ’97 article contains spoilers.
Like the original X-Men: The Animated Series before it, X-Men ’97 has been a masterclass in adapting (and updating) classic comic book storylines in ways that make them feel fresh and surprising. The latest episode, “Bright Eyes,” continues this tradition.
“Bright Eyes” deals with the fallout of the destruction of Genosha, with both a beautiful eulogy that Nightcrawler delivers at Gambit’s funeral but also Rogue going, well, rogue to punish those behind Remy’s death. But the biggest reveals involve not just confirmation of Cable’s relationship to Cyclops and Madelyne Pryor, but also that Magneto is still alive and being held hostage by a new villain, one with major ramifications for the rest of this animated universe…
Bastion (Theo James)
X-Men ’97 initially teased Mister Sinister as the big bad of this season. Yet, a new threat has emerged from the shadows in the latest episode,...
