Naked in Finnish summer
Petey-1022 June 2009
The station master Viirimäki has to get back to his work and gets a lift from the pharmacist Aarne Himanen and lieutenant Paavo Kehkonen on their motor boat. The two fellas lose their clothes to the boat, that has some motor problems. Now they run in all sorts of problems-mostly naked. There's also an escaped convict on the loose and they get confused to him eventually finding themselves behind bars.Aatamin Puvussa- ja Vähän Eevankin...(1940) is directed by Ossi Elstelä.It's based on the novel (written in 1928) by Yrjö Soini, also known as Agapetus. It's been made into movies (one in Germany) also in 1931, 1959 and 1971.It's full of delightful performances.Tauno Palo is great as Aarne. And so is Leo Lähteenmäki as Kehkonen.Jalmari Rinne is hilarious as Viirimäki.Sirkka Sipilä is wonderful as Alli.Yrjö Tuominen is terrific as the crook, Vilho Vikström.Valter Tuomi plays the police chief.Irja Kuusla is Liina. The funniest part must be when Aarne escapes a dog to the tree and the women come there from the house.First he pretends to be a cat, and then a woman. And with a scarf and a dress he makes a perfect woman. Then Alli, the daughter of the police chief asks him/her to spend a night there.Aarne shares the bed with this most attractive woman, and she takes her clothes off to do some exercise movements on the floor. Not the best moment to be a woman. This movie offers some nice Finnish summertime fun.
