Stupid porn suspenser

Warning: Spoilers
Prolific NYC-based porn director Richard Mailer headed to the West Coast to make IN TOO DEEP with local talent there, and achieved meager results.

Jesse Adams stars as a hapless husband, married to beautiful Aubrey Nichols, who gets kidnapped by Mike Ranger (a heavy for a change) and an accomplice. They gang-rape Nichols, who puts up a good fight unlike most porn victims who conform to the unwritten rule of "loving it".

Hillary Summers as Nichols' sister overacts unmercifully, ruining most of the pretend suspense here. Working with a low-low budget Mailer directs many of the later scenes requiring action amateurishly, staging an impromptu bank robbery off camera and having Jesse find the kidnappers' lair without any information, to set up a ridiculous climax.

My favorite short story writer is H.E. Bates, justly famed for his shock endings (carefully hinted at but nearly always a complete and sudden surprise). Mailer tries for this gambit, but I can't recall a dumber final shot, where the cast looks towards the camera in shock as Jesse bursts into the room - cut to "THE END" card.

The only reason to watch this is to see Aubrey Nichols, a stunning blonde who never made the grade - I had previously enjoyed gazing at her opposite John Holmes in ONE WAY AT A TIME.
