This film was first released through independent exchanges on 8/6/37. Columbia Pictures purchased it in late 1937, re-did all the advertising, posters and other related printed material and sent it out via its own distribution as a Columbia film on 2/17/38. It also changed the billing order from that on the original print.
Final film of producer Anthony J. Xydias. NOTE: He had retired a few years before, but came out of retirement to produce a string of "epic" westerns; however, this film--which was to be the first of them--flopped badly at the box-office and Xydias decided to retire for good this time.
A 42-minute adaption of the film was released by Eastin School Films. This adaption is included on 2004 Frank Thompson The Alamo Documentary DVD.
