The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle franchise celebrated three decades of existence in May. Like so many 30-year-olds, it’s made a few mistakes along the way. Deadline says Jurassic Park 4 has a director… Is it…
A. J.J. Abrams
B. Uwe Boll
C. Ang Lee
D. A Wildcard
The answer is D. A wildcard. His name is Colin Trevorrow.
He made Safety Not Guaranteed (2012), which was nominated for a Grand Jury Prize at Sundance Film Festival. It reportedly had a budget of under a million (back in 1993, Jurassic Park had a budget of $63 million).
Safety Not Guaranteed is a good film! I saw it. It was funny. Good acting. Sentimental at parts.
Now he’s being trusted with a franchise close to the hearts of many of our readers.
There’s a lot of pressure for this movie to be good. Especially since many of us still don’t recognize that Jurassic Park III ever happened. By that logic, Trevorrow has to follow Steven Spielberg, who absolutely dropped the mic after making the original Jurassic Park and its sequel The Lost World.
