Tauno Palo plays the son of a farm-owner called Reino Köyri.He hits his head after he has a horse accident and wakes up in a house where he's nursed by the beautiful Anna Liuhala (Hilkka Helinä).Naturally they eventually fall in love.Ilmari Unho's Koskenkylän laulu (1947) is something very Finnish with a bunch of log floaters.In that time that was very typical to Finnish movies.It offers some real drama when Reino finds out something very disturbing, that he and Anna may be related.The actors are brilliant.Hilkka Helinä with her beautiful looks and talent is just perfect.Kirsti Ortola does the part of Kirsti Kiisu brilliantly.Elina Kolehmainen is the funniest character as Kuppari Kaisa.The Finnish legend Matti Ranin appears in an early role as Villager.His father Helge Ranin plays Vallesmanni.Tauno Palo is terrific as he always was.Just watch him and the horse appearing on the screen and you understand why they call him Tauno the Great.Besides the acting work it's always nice to look at the Finnish landscape of the countryside.
