Almost painful to watch
Jantte8 October 2017
Finnish UN peacekeepers in Cyprus. Very little happens and troops have time to watch antique statues in the museum and swim on the beach. There sergeant major Onni sees beautiful local girl called Stalo and falls in love immediately.. The love story and everything in this film is so shallow and hollow, without any meaning, that you only wait for it to end. Local actors are all amateurs, and one of the Finnish soldiers "Mosse" is played by the first openly gay "mediaperson" in Finland, after the decriminalization of homosexualism in 1971. Acting is not sympathetically clumsy, only bad. 3 stars for the beautiful landscapes and some traditional dances seen in the movie.
