TukkiJoella- Logging and Soap Finnish Style
arthur_tafero25 March 2022
This charming tale of a Finnish lumberjack (he works all day and plays at night) is more than likely nothing like most viewers have ever seen before. Although roughly equal to the environment of the Great Northwest, it is a bit colder and most people in Finland travel by skis in nature's woodlands. Tukkijoella inevitably meets up with a romantic interest that has a rather predictable outcome. But the real value of this film is the outstanding shots of the natural beauty of the Finnish logging camps and their devil-may-care attitude of manning massive log convoys down the river. An interesting diversion for an hour or so.
