The first says, "Woody the Terribull!" It shows Woody Woodpecker threatening a bull with a toilet plunger. The second says, "For Whom the Bulls Toil," a reference to
Ernest Hemingway's 1940 novel, For Whom the Bell Tolls. The title, in turn, comes from a line of prose by
John Donne. (In 1943, a movie
version of Hemingway's novel appeared. It starred
Gary Cooper and
Ingrid Bergman.)
