Exclusive: Some breaking news. We’ve just heard from eOne staff that there will be a ten percent cut in the film and TV headcount at the Hasbro-owned mini-major.
A memo was just sent out to all staff by Steve Bertram, President, Film & TV, explaining the decision. You can read the memo in full below. We’ve reached out to eOne for comment.
The company employs around 1200 people worldwide across all divisions. Film and TV accounts for around 30-50% so by our calculation the cuts will likely impact around 50-60 staff worldwide.
This has been the flow of traffic at the traditional film and TV studios over the last couple of years as the market evolves and viewing habits change. The pandemic has only hastened that change and made things harder for the majors and mini-majors which have seen production decrease and traditional modes of film distribution grind to...

If your biggest problem with the classic “Risk” board game is that it has yet to be adapted into a television show, “House of Cards” creator Beau Willimon has the series announcement just for you.
Willimon’s upcoming series will mark the first television adaptation of the board game, which squares player-controlled armies against one another on a political map of the world in a war for territory. Casting and plot details for the “Risk” adaptation, as well as a release date, are still in the works.
The upcoming “Risk” adaptation marks the first collaboration for oOne and Willimon and Jordan Tappis’ production company Westward and eOne following their multi-year deal. “Risk” is one of several properties that eOne is adapting into films or television shows; adaptations of “Power Rangers” with Jonathan Entwistle, “Monopoly,” with Kevin Hart, “Action Man,” “G.I. Joe,” and “Clue” are also in the works.

Jurassic Dead
Stars: Matt Block, Cooper Elliott, Ben Johnson, Mia Klosterman, Adam Singer, Ruselis Aumeen Perry, Andy Haman, Raquel Pennington, Shale Le Page, Nicole Goeke | Written by Milko Davis, Michele Pacitto | Directed by Milko Davis, Thomas Martwick
Name: Jurassic Dead aka Zombiesaurus aka Z/Rex aka Tri-terrortops (I made that last one up).
Age: Released in 2017.
Appearance: Slightly rambling, overly ambitious cheapo 90s style action horror with a zombie dinosaur. Yes, a *zombie* dinosaur.
Jurrasic Dead. Not written by Michael Crichton.
It’s what Michael Crichton would have wanted…
Now, now. After the earth is struck by an Emp (Electromagnetic pulse for those who care) from outer space a group of wooden acting college kids and PlayStation inspired militia types are trapped in a bunker overseen by the nefarious Dr. Wojick Borg and his zombie-dinosaur thingy.
You what?
Yes, there is a lot more plot to it than you would think.

Paramount Players have teamed up with Hasbro for an all-new action hero feature – one that no one asked for – based on Hasbro’s toy Action Man. They have set Alice Through the Looking Glass director, James Bobin, to take the helm.
The project is set to be a bit of a British affair as Paddington’s Simon Farnaby has also been hired to pen the screenplay. Hasbro will produce.
Action Man is an action figure launched in Britain in 1966 by Palitoy as a licensed copy of Hasbro’s American “movable fighting man” G.I. Joe.
Action Man was originally produced and sold in the United Kingdom and Australia by Palitoy Ltd of Coalville, Leicestershire from 1966 until 1984 (Palitoy also offered sub-licences to various toy manufacturers in various markets).
At the New York Comic Con 2011, Hasbro released a comic book called ‘Unit E’ that featured comic strips of several toy...

Hasbro is moving forward with their feature film adaptation of Action Man at Paramount Pictures. According to Deadline, they've hired James Bobin (The Muppets, Alice Through the Looking Glass) to direct the movie.
For those of you not familiar with Action Man, it is a military action figure line that is basically the British version of G.I. Joe that was launched in the 60s. There are no details on the story, but Simon Farnaby (Paddington 2) is writing the script.
I was familiar with Action Man when I was growing up, but living in the U.S., I obviously preferred G.I. Joe. This will definitely be a different kind of project for Bobin, who also worked on Da Ali G Show and Flight of the Concords, but I hope that he ends up making a great movie!
Maybe the Action Man movie will succeed where G.I. Joe failed. If you...

Thank heavens, another toy movie! Action Man, the U.K.’s answer to G.I. Joe, will be getting his own film courtesy of Paramount Pictures. The Muppets director James Bobin will helm the Action Man movie. The Hasbro Cinematic Universe (*shudders involuntarily*) has a new toy movie on the block. Deadline reports that Paramount, who are developing a whole slew of […]

Funnyman Seth Rogen hates the idea of becoming a Hollywood superstar - insisting fans seeing him as a sex symbol makes him "feel sick".
The writer/actor has moved away from his comedy roots with a turn in upcoming superhero movie The Green Hornet - but has turned down a string of other lucrative offers which all promised to promote him to the A-list.
Rogen insists he will never abandon funny films to become an all-star action hero and puts his decision down to his disgust at the excesses of the showbiz lifestyle.
He tells British magazine FHM, "Just the other day I was offered a big part in the new action film by the director of The Day After Tomorrow. But I don't want to become the kind of superstar who parties all the time, does coke and throws up in the back of a limo. And the idea of me being seen as a sex symbol makes me feel sick. For me, my main goal is simple, to write the kind of comedy that me and my friends would instantly throw money down to see."...
