- Five children from around the world follow Santa home on Christmas Eve, and decide to give him some extra help around the workshop.
- After a hard night's work on Christmas Eve, delivering toys to all the good little boys and girls all over the world, the worn-out-and-tired Santa Claus returns to his home at the North Pole for a well-earned rest. At Little Audrey's house in the USA, the viewer is introduced to her via her picture hanging above her stocking in the fireplace mantle. Little Audrey's stocking, giving the audience a glimpse of her character traits, has a hole in the bottom that drops her present into a box on the floor and, consequently, Audrey gets more than her allotted share as Santa keeps trying to fill her stocking. Santa visits many countries - one of which doesn't celebrate or recognize Christmas or Santa Claus but, as far as Santa is concerned, a good kid is a good kid no matter where they live and gets a present anyway. Audrey and a United Nations group of kids - Spanish, Chinese, Dutch, African, South-Seas, Baltic and unknown origin - follow him home in order to do something nice for Santa Claus while he is sleeping.—Les Adams <longhorn1939@suddenlink.net>
- The story opens on a full-moon night, as Santa Claus travels through the sky with his flying sled. He sings merrily while flying over the Netherlands and their many windmills. He leaves a present in the bedroom of an unnamed Dutch boy, figuring that the boy is sleeping. The boy is actually wide awake, and hiding under the bed.
While visiting China, Santa leaves presents in the bedroom of a seemingly sleeping boy. The Chinese boy is actually faking being asleep, and observes Santa's movements by using a hand-held mirror.
Santa next flies over a large American city (never identified) with skyscrapers, and visits Little Audrey's house. He leaves many toys for Audrey, and cheese for an anthropomorphic mouse who also lives in the house. Audrey fakes being asleep, while observing Santa from her bed.
Santa returns to his own residence to the North Pole, glad to have finishes his work for this year. He arrives home exhausted, and seems barely awake while exiting his sled. He quickly undresses, wishes "Merry Christmas" to his mirror image, and falls asleep in his bed.
Little Audrey then emerges from the sled, having entered it as a stowaway. She alerts several other kids (and fellow stowaways) that Santa is asleep. At least 7 kids observe the sleeping Santa through the window glass. They quickly note that Santa lives alone (with no family or assistants) and that his house is a mess. Tools, paint, and equipment are randomly abandoned through the house. Broken toys and failed designs are filling trash cans that have not been cleaned for quite a while. The kitchen is full with dirty dishes, and has not been cleaned for weeks or months. Santa is apparently too tired to take care of his own house.
The kids feel sorry on Santa and his way of life. They figure that Santa helps everybody, but has never received help in return. Audrey suggests that they could clean up Santa's home. Audrey opens the unlocked door. and everyone starts sneaking in. They all walk cautiously and silently, except for the Dutch boy. He is wearing clogs, his every step and makes too much noise. His teammates warn him to be quiet, but he can't. Everybody stares angrily at him, until Audrey ties two pillows beneath the clogs. The Dutch boy thanks Audrey, then carelessly collides with a table and breaks a vase. The kids are scared that their cover is blown, but Santa continues sleeping despite the loud noise.
The kids emerge from hiding places that they had chosen during their moment of panic. The klutzy Dutch boy manages to get trapped in an old gramophone, and Audrey has to rescue him. The kids then start cleaning up the place, and also cleaning and ironing Santa's clothes. Most of them are doing a good job, but the Dutch klutz keeps making mistakes. As they finish their work and exit the house, the Dutch boy accidentally awakes Santa.
Santa is surprised to awake to a sparkling-clean house, a decorated Christmas tree, greeting cards in several languages, and a present with his name on it. He opens the present and finds a music box, decorated with the picture of every child who helped clean the house. A note asks him not to forget about them, and reminds him that today is December 25th, Christmas day. Santa laughs, and the film ends.
