Deep poverty movie.
RodrigAndrisan9 February 2020
Another screenplay by Panait Istrati and one of the few and happy Romanian-French co-productions. Like "Codine", it's a film about poverty, only this time on a much larger scale. The debut film of the national treasure called Florin Piersic. Already, by look, he announces the characters from later, Saptecai, Pintea and Margelatu. Tudorel Popa does a good role as a thief. The teenager Nuta Chirlea is very natural, in a role similar to that of the child Razvan Petrescu from "Codine". An unusual appearance, Maria Tanase, the most loved folk music singer in Romania for all time. Mihai Berechet is good in the role of the nobleman. It's not a masterpiece, just a decent achievement.
