I loved reliving "Pop Up Video" when watching many segments from it on YouTube recently!

I remember discovering this program on VH1 about 1997 when I channel surfed and stumbled on a music video with many of the pertinent info "popping up" on screen. That got me hooked to the effect of watching many of these late at night when other people in a house I lived in at the time were asleep with only another one a few years younger than me also watching. Many of those "pop-up bubbles" either related to the video, whoever were the artists being showcased in it, or other things related to the subject matter in them. Many of them had funny lines. I recently rediscovered many of the videos that were shown on the program on YouTube. So thanks to that site for bringing back many fond memories of watching "Pop Up Video"!

I am a proud "Pop-Up Video" addict!

Yeah, yeah, I know such a thing sounds pathetic...especially since it seems most people nowadays haven't even HEARD of (let alone watched) the wonderful, addictive, entertaining and - yes, educational - TV phenomenon that is "P-U.V." Despite its popularity taking an apparent nosedive as far as current mainstream TV viewing is concerned, I have become an avid viewer of the show as it runs in syndication...and I LOVE it! Even if many of the episodes and statistics are terribly outdated by this point, I don't care! Just the fact that I have some funny little blurbs to help get me through an otherwise unwatchable video (most of the time) is genius, and very, very amusing. Classic novelty programming.

Informative and Entertaining

I love Pop Up Video. What really can you say about it? It's simply facts popping up in bubbles through out video clips. There are facts about the singer/band and then facts that don't really have anything to do with the singer/band but can somehow be linked to the lyrics or to something in the video clip. I won't use Pop Up Video as a reliable source of information but it sure is entertaining.

I love Pop-Up Video. It is a brilliant idea - spice up otherwise boring music videos with cool facts popping up in bubbles. Even if most of it is untrue and the fact-assembling team have an unhealthy obsession with sex (just count how many times the 'sperm' bubble pops up...). I never miss it. Pop!
