The Indian version has been censored by the Censor Board of India to delete...
- visuals of a witch lady cutting the neck of a bat,
- visuals of a girl cutting the legs of a crow,
- visuals of blood coming out of the armour of the constable's mother in the dream sequence were reduced by 50% (Length Retained: 3.00 ft)
- and the visuals of the killing of the girl's father with a wooden pole deleted the blood coming out and were reduced to a flash (Length Retained: 4.00 ft).
After cuts were made, the Censor Board rated the film 'A' (adults) in mid 2000 two months before its theatrical release. It was re-rated U/A (unrestricted + adult supervision) for television but no information is found as to whether or not the cut 'A' version was re-rated or further cuts were made for re-rating.
