Wish this was available on DVD!

I loved this Australian TV series when it aired in 1967 on German TV. It was a huge success and my classmates discussed it every week. I never missed a single episode.

Does anybody know if the complete TV series is finally available on DVD? I checked the Internet several times over the past few years, but so far unsuccessful.

If you could help me, please write to waldenpond88@hotmail.com. Thanks!

O.k., I cannot submit this text unless it contains 10 lines, so I will talk now about CFF movies (Childrens Film Foundation movies from Great Britain). I'm looking for 40+ years for a copy from "Mystery in the Mine" with Ingrid Cardon and Stewart Guidotti. Does anybody know somebody who has access to CFF movies maybe??? Would be awesome!

TV series with a story behind the story

On the "Seaspray" there was a black boatswain with an Afro haircut, who wore a Fijian Sulu skirt.

Actually, this boatswain (Leoni Lesinawi) was the owner of the "Seaspray", who leased it to the filming company and got the supporting part.

When the filming was over, the "Seaspray" belonged to him and no longer to the bank. He then established a travel agency called "Seaspray Cruises" in Nadi (Fiji Islands). The "Seaspray" still makes day cruises for tourists.

At least the "Seaspray" did so in 1986 when I visited Fiji, but the owner did not take part in the cruise.

Corny, dated but nice scenery.

A truly wholesome creation that I saw while growing up in Australia. A kids show, but of the adventurous variety. A square-jawed, morally fibrous father (where did mum get off to?) and his two sons sail the wide ocean in their yatch, the "Seaspray" of the title, meeting with many a scrape on the way in many an exotic clime. Pretty harmless, really, if a little camp in places. Not exactly gripping, but beats the hell out of most of the pap foisted upon kids nowadays.

The most i can give it is a 5

One reviewer claims it has been repeated several times in recent years.

Not to my knowledge it hasn't been .Last time would have been 1983 or1984 .That is hardly recent.

A couple of episodes weren't bad but personally, i only watched it because of Susan Haworth ,who was hot as hell ,especially in the first series .

The most i can give it is a 5.

Aventures Of The Seaspray
tjyoung18 June 2005
Adventures Of The Seaspray has been repeated a number of times in recent years on Australian TV. Susan Howarth is now a producer/director, and also appeared in the hit Australian series Prisoner, known as "Cell Block H" in America. I believe that episodes of the series may be available on video and DVD.

The series was produced by Screen Gems.

The series was originally broadcast in Australia,

on ABC TV, in the mid 1960's

Susan Howarth lives on the Central Coast

of NSW.

i am a big fan of Seaspray as a child of the 1960's favorite

Seaspray was my favorite ABC TV program as a child growing up in the 60's and 70's it was a focal point of our after school pastime and the class would talk about it the next day at school . This ABC film deserves a place in the house of fame because of its high quality and it adapts for the family and children alike .Seaspray tells the story of an adventure that every school boy and girl dream about . It is exciting to know now that beautiful Schooner Seaspray is still afloat in Fiji and living out a life on the water . I read recently that the Skipper Dan has now passed on of course a popular famous face of television films of the period right up to today , God rest his soul . amen If anyone can let me know how to get a video or DVD of Seaspray then please contact me on chrishigg2000@yahoo.com.au
