The ladies of Sex and the City spent six seasons dating all of the eligible and not-so-eligible bachelors of New York City. From 1998 until 2004, fans tuned in to see Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes, Charlotte York, and Samantha Jones search for great love and great sex. While the characters were busy dating, the series’ cast was not. None of the main Sex and the City cast members dated any of the show’s guest stars. One cast member dated someone who was almost on the show.

Carrie Bradshaw was a fashionista long before Sex and the City fans met her in 1998. The character was 32 during season 1 of the series and liked to play with mixing designer pieces and vintage finds. She played with bold colors and prints in her clothes, shoes, and handbags. As she aged throughout the series, her style changed, too. Now, 25 years later, Carrie is back in the Max reboot, And Just Like That… While she’s still fashion-forward in her 50s, her style has changed again. One thing, however, has stayed the same. Carrie Bradshaw’s nails are still naked. Sarah Jessica Parker recently revealed why Carrie Bradshaw didn’t get manicures.

Sex and the City wasn’t big on stunts. The show, centered around a sex columnist and her friends looking for love in New York City, wasn’t exactly action-packed. Still, there were moments when things didn’t go as planned, and the actors did get a few scares, scraps, and bumps along the way. One season 3 episode resulted in what showrunner Michael Patrick King labeled a “near-death experience” for three of the show’s four stars.
A season 3 scene in ‘Sex and the City’ went wrong, according to Michael Patrick King
During a bonus episode of And Just Like That… The Writers Room, Michael Patrick King, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, and Sarah Jessica Parker all recalled one of the original series’ scenes that didn’t go as planned. The foursome revealed that in season 3, when Carrie and her pals headed to Los Angeles, one of the show’s few car scenes almost turned tragic.

Carrie Bradshaw is considered among the first real female anti-heroes in TV history. While Sex and the City fans still root for the famed sex columnist, she also gets a lot of hate. Carrie wasn’t perfect. She wasn’t always poised and often made mistakes and blunders. She could be selfish, chaotic, and completely unsure of herself. Sarah Jessica Parker once revealed that the crew opted to show how messy Carrie could be through her clumsiness. Did you ever notice that Carrie Bradshaw falls a lot?
Carrie and Stanford | Marcel Thomas/FilmMagic Sarah Jessica Parker said Carrie’s stumbles were true to her character
Just how many times did Carrie Bradshaw fall? It’s hard to say. She tripped in her apartment, fell into a pond, stumbled down Manhattan streets, and even fell on a fashion runway once. The iconic character even stumbles in the show’s iconic opening sequence.

When you talk to Candace Bushnell, you don’t really see Carrie Bradshaw.
Instead, you see more of a Samantha Jones, a fabulous blonde woman wearing sunglasses inside her Sag Harbor home in the Hamptons. She’s put together, and eager to get down to business — she says she’s working on being her own Mr. Big rather than searching for him.
In the mid-1990s, Bushnell wrote a column for the New York Observer titled Sex and the City. There, she examined Manhattan life through the sex lives and relationships of her and her friends. As the column progressed, she began writing about herself under the pen name “Carrie Bradshaw.”
Later in that decade, Darren Star created the HBO series “Sex and the City” based on Bushnell’s column. It ran for six seasons, from 1998-2004, and then launched two films and the subsequent where-are-they-now spin off series, “And Just Like That,...

Patricia Field, the costume designer for Sex and the City, once revealed that it was difficult to get designers on board with the show during its first season. Still, after season 1 garnered mass attention, designers were knocking down the doors to get their garments on the show. When HBO Max announced And Just Like That… brands lined up to appear on the show. During the filming of season 2, showrunner Michael Patrick King found himself with a much different problem. Brands were suddenly suspicious of the reboot, and it’s all because of the show’s season 1 Peloton storyline.

Sex and the City is one of the most captivating series in TV history. The series aired from 1998 to 2004. Over the six seasons, the series followed fashionable New York City-based girlfriends, Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall), and Charlotte York (Kristin Davis) as they navigated their careers, friendships and romantic relationships.
Samantha still stands out as the gem of the series. Here’s why she was the absolute most modern woman.

Sex and the City were about four friends navigating their dating lives, professional lives, and friendships in New York City. However, as much as the series centered on Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Samantha (Kim Cattrall), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), and Charlotte (Kristin Davis), it also focused on Carrie’s relationship with Mr. Big (Chris Noth).
In fact, fans were never supposed to know Big’s name.

And Just Like That… season 1 was lambasted by fans. Despite harsh criticism, the series remains HBO Max’s most successful original series to date, and season 2 is on the horizon. Considering how many people watched the first season to its conclusion, there has to be something good about the series. We think there is, at least. We’ve collected five aspects of the show’s first season that we absolutely loved. Do you agree?
Here us out, Mr. Big’s death was an absolute necessity Carrie and Mr. Big | Craig Blankenhorn/HBO
We were as shocked as anyone else when Mr. Big died in the final moments of the show’s first episode. Some of us even vowed not to watch another moment (we broke the vow quickly). Still, after viewing the rest of the episodes and putting a bit of space between ourselves and season 1, we must say his death was necessary.

Sex and the City is one of the most enduring TV shows of all time, spawning two movies and making its star, Sarah Jessica Parker, a pop culture icon. The HBO series has taken on new life with the reboot And Just Like That…, drawing legions of new viewers to discover the adventures of sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw and her friends. Though Carrie is the central character of Sex and the City, the real-life Carrie Bradshaw is Candace Bushnell, the author who created the column and bestselling book of the same name. Over the years, Bushnell has opened up about Sex and the City, admitting the on-screen version deviated from the source material once Carrie married Mr. Big.

‘And Just Like That…’ Sarah Jessica Parker Calls Carrie and Aidan Reunion ‘Happy, Fun, and Familiar’
Sarah Jessica Parker and John Corbett have been spotted together on the set of And Just Like That… Corbett, who portrayed Aidan Shaw in Sex and the City, has excited fans with his appearance. Some wonder if Aidan and Carrie will be giving love another try. While no one from the show is willing to give a definitive answer just yet, Sarah Jessica Parker did offer fans a little teaser when she caught up with Extra at her New York City shoe store.
Sarah Jessica Parker said Carrie and Aidan’s storyline will be ‘happy, fun and familiar’
Sarah Jessica Parker isn’t sharing too much information about the upcoming storyline between Carrie Bradshaw and Aidan Shaw. Still, she isn’t against teasing. After all, the show’s official Instagram show teased romance and based on what Parker told Extra earlier this week, love very well could be in the air for the former flame.

Mr. Big wasn’t exactly the best when it came to maintaining a healthy romantic relationship. While Carrie Bradshaw insisted they were happier than they had ever been shortly before Mr. Big’s tragic death in the series opener of And Just Like That…, it took them a long time to get there. Mr. Big and Carrie got together and broke up several times, and he was married before her. But how many marriages did the mysterious financier actually have? We have the answer.
Mr. Big had three marriages during his life
Mr. Big was married three times in his life. Two marriages played out on screen, and one happened before Mr. Big ever met Carrie Bradshaw. Before hooking up with Carrie, Big was married to a book publisher named Barbara. The length of their marriage is never mentioned.
