- One of the enemies in the game is a giant plant that spits out exploding seeds. When Crash dies to one of these exploding seeds, he clutches his stomach, possibly implying that a shrapnel flew into his stomach. This can be a little disturbing to some.

- The "Game Over" screen has caused a lot of controversy due to the screen having Cortex's head being on a black screen with a weird blue background, and him saying "Game...Over." in a sinister voice and giving a sinister and foreboding evil laugh. It has caused some players to get angry and caused other players to have PTSD.
- Some VERY YOUNG kids may find the bear who chases you through certain levels scary.
