Sometimes on “Top Chef,” the difference between a winning dish and a losing dish is just a matter of proper execution. That was the case in “Hands Off,” in which Tom Goetter made a mousse with all the right flavors but all the wrong consistency. But luckily for Goetter, it was Dale MacKay‘s flabby, flavorless chicken whose execution left the most to be desired. So Tom Colicchio welcomed MacKay back to “Last Chance Kitchen” to prove his technical ability with one of the most basic dishes in a chef’s arsenal: an omelet.
“It doesn’t feel good to be sent home twice in one season,” admits MacKay, who just fought his way back into the competition in “Top Chef is No Picnic” only to be eliminated again just a week later. “I’ve never been sent home before, so the first time was a new feeling. Second time doesn’t feel any better.

Lifetime has announced two new TV movies, “A Rose For Her Grave” and “Desperate Hours,” both inspired by novels from author Ann Rule.
“A Rose For Her Grave” stars Chrishell Stause of “Selling Sunset” fame, Colin Egglesfield and Laura Ramsey, and follows serial wife-killer Randy Roth opposite the woman who finally brings him to justice.
Gina Gershon will serve as a first-time director for “Desperate Hours.” Samantha Mathis, Harrison Thomas and David Conrad star in the film. The screenplay is an adaptation of Rule’s novel “Last Chance.” The film follows a mother who finds herself and her young children held hostage by a man who forces his way into their home after committing a murder earlier in the day.
Both films will debut on the network in 2023.

Welcome to this review of this past Friday’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown, right here on Nerdly. We’ve got more of Triple H’s reimagining of WWE this week And a (hopeful) build to Clash as the Castle, right here in the UK. So let’s see what went down…
Match #1: Ricochet def. Happy Corbin The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Following weeks of Happy Corbin being undermined by the high-flying Ricochet, the two SmackDown Superstars stepped into the ring to settle their differences. Corbin initially grounded Ricochet, lifting him up into a World’s Strongest Slam onto the announce table. Corbin kept up the assault, dropping Ricochet on the top rope in an innovative maneuver. Corbin’s focus was the focus, for lack of a better term, of the night as Ricochet took the advantage back after Corbin taunted the exciting Superstar once too often.

Disney+ content chief Agnes Chu is leaving the Mouse House to head up Condé Nast Entertainment’s video push.
Chu, who was SVP, content for the nascent streamer, is set to become president of the publishing company’s studio and distribution division. She joins in September and reports to Condé Nast CEO Roger Lynch.
She is the latest top Disney exec to leave in recent months following the departure of Kevin Mayer, Disney’s Chairman of Direct-to-Consumer & International division, to TikTok.
Deadline understands that Chu will remain with Disney until mid August and is working closely with Ricky Strauss, President of Content and Marketing for Disney+ on the transition. Sarah Shepard and Dan Silver will report to Strauss on an interim basis.

“Last Chance U” is taking its last crack at junior college (Juco) football this summer, when director Greg Whiteley and his team chronicle the 2019 season of the Laney College Eagles. The popular Netflix docuseries will shift to basketball next year, something Whiteley, the show’s top producer, said was “not really my decision to make.”
“Netflix, of course, who writes the checks — it’s ultimately their decision,” he told TheWrap ahead of the Season 5 premiere.
But, like football or basketball, it was a team effort.
“After Year 4, when we were looking for a new place to go, a lot of us just started thinking maybe there’s other places, even other sports, other subjects that we can try,” he said, referring to the gap between filming a second season at Independence Community College in Kansas and this one in Oakland, Calif. “Because of the success of the show, many of...

“Led by Monica Aldama, the small junior college has won 14 National Championships since 2000. The stakes on the mat are high, but for these athletes, the only thing more brutal than their workouts and more exceptional than their performances are the stories of adversity and triumph behind the team members themselves. Over the course of six episodes, viewers will join the Navarro College cheerleaders as they face injuries, sacrifice, personal setbacks and triumphs, all leading up to one nail-biting and adrenaline pumping final competition at the National Championship.”
