The next Parkinson?
Zipper695 October 2004
Dee had made a name for himself on pirate radio outside UK territorial waters in the 60's, his smooth, chatty mid-Atlantic style made his voice instantly recognisable. He not only had a cool voice but the right kind of blonde good looks that were right for the times, as a result he was able to negotiate a contract for a late night TV chat show. The king of TV chat at that time was Michael Parkinson and Dee seemed to have the potential to appeal to the younger generation of viewers who considered "Parky" too square. The series started well with a number of quirky guests and Dee seemed to have a good interview technique; somewhere along the way either ego or substance abuse started to affect his performance and several bizarre confrontations with guests meant his contract was not renewed.

Since those halcyon days he's drifted into obscurity, being declared bankrupt and appearing in court on various petty charges.
