“I Am Jazz” has been renewed for Season 7 at TLC, Variety has learned exclusively.
Starring trans activist Jazz Jennings, TLC’s reality series premiered in 2015 as a 14 year-old Jennings prepared to go to high school, and wrapped its sixth season in March 2020 with her graduation as valedictorian. Over the years, viewers have watched Jennings, who became the youngest trans child on television after her 2007 “20/20” interview with Barbara Walters, deal with school, sports, dating and her health as she moved forward with her transition.
Season 6 saw Jennings helping a friend raise money for her gender confirmation surgery, manage her anxiety, and try to decide between attending Pomona College or Harvard University after high school. After a two-year break in filming, the longest in the show’s history, production on the seventh season will begin this summer in South Florida where Jennings currently lives with her family.

“Superfly” Jimmy Snuka could fly like no one else.
His Superfly Splash from the top rope onto his opponents was a thing of brutal beauty and he delivered it to the likes of Ray “The Crippler” Stevens, Paul Orndorff, “Cowboy” Bob Orton, and many more throughout the 1970s and ’80s.
“Snuka’s leap off the top of the cage was as groundbreaking as any single maneuver ever in our business,” esteemed announcer Jim Ross said on the WWE produced DVD, The Greatest Wrestling Stars of the ’80s. “It showed athletes that if you’re talented enough and proficient in your skills, and you’ve got the guts, there’s really no limits.”
Hailing from the Fiji Islands, Snuka was a standout in a long line of Samoan greats. Trained in Hawaii by “Cowboy” Franky Laine, Snuka debuted in 1971 in Portland, Oregon, battling everyone from “Playboy” Buddy Rose to...

The life story of former U.S. President Ronald Reagan is getting a big screen treatment and it's getting a healthy $30 million budget to boot!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be called "Reagan" and will be released late next year. This one will be based on two best-selling Reagan biographies by Paul Kengor namely "The Crusader" and "God and Ronald Reagan."
Jonas McCord ("Malice," "The Body") wrote the script and Mark Joseph ("Ray," "Holes," "Because of Winn-Dixie," "The Passion of the Christ") is co-producing with Ralph Winter ("X-Men" and "Fantastic Four" films).
Joseph and company are adamant that this film version will be sharply different from the failed Reagan 2003 miniseries starring James Brolin as the 40th U.S. President. If that one was critical of Reagan's accomplishments, the film version will be more about his life -- from boyhood to Hollywood to leader of the free world.

Former U.S. President Ronald Reagan is set to get a $30 million biopic which will be rather reverential in tone according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Jonas McCord ("Malice," "The Body") is penning the script for "Reagan" which begins with his 1981 assassination attempt and follows his story through both flashbacks and flash-forwards that will show how the Hollywood actor became the leader of the free world. Paul Kengor's two best-selling biographies of the man will be used as the basis for the script.
Ralph Winter and Mark Joseph will produce. No actors or director have been signed a yet, though final financing is being locked down now and a late 2011 release is being planned.
CBS was slated to air the mini-series "The Reagans" in 2003, but controversy over its apparent left-wing bias pushed it to premiere on cable outlet Showtime. James Brolin starred as Reagan in that mini-series.

Film based on Paul Kengor biographies to be titled Reagan and expected to offer sympathetic portrayal of Us president
He was the Us president who oversaw the end of the cold war and the rise of the Aids epidemic, a ferocious anti-communist during the McCarthy era who nevertheless referred to his darling wife, Nancy as "Mommie". Now the story of Ronald Reagan is set to be told on the big screen for the first time, in what looks likely to be a sympathetic biopic.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the film Reagan will be based on two bestselling biographies of the 40th Us president by Paul Kengor: God and Ronald Reagan and The Crusader. No casting decisions have yet been made, and there is no director on board. The project does, however, have a $30m (£19m) budget in place.

Mark Joseph optioned best-selling biographies "The Crusader" and "God and Ronald Reagan" four years ago, and is now making plans for a feature film based on the life of 40th Us President Ronald Reagan. The new $30 million movie is written by Jonas McCord (Malice, The Body) and will examine Reagan's life from boyhood to Hollywood actor to leader of the free world. No actors or directors have been signed, but the film is set to be released next year. There was already a 2003 mini-series "The Reagans," which starred James Brolin as the President and was supposed to air on CBS until a controversy erupted over alleged left-wing bias and was moved to Showtime instead. "Only in Hollywood could you make an insulting, condescending movie about a much-loved historical figure, hire an actor who loathes the man, watch it flop and then somehow conclude that Americans don't want to see a movie about him,...

Given that he was one of the most iconic American presidents, a man who began his career in showbiz and ended up in the White House, it’s no surprise that someone thinks the story of Ronald Reagan’s life is worth shoving on the big screen. New film about the life and death of Jesus Christ will be as much about the key players at his crucifixion as the man himself
A new film about the life and death of Jesus Christ is to go into production this July for release around Easter 2011, reports Variety.
Producer Bill McKay told the trade paper that The Resurrection of the Christ, budgeted at $20m (£12m), was "as much about the key players as it is about Jesus". He added: "We want to bring in the 'Gladiator' dimension of the first century against the political milieu of the time."
Dan Gordon, who wrote the Denzel Washington-starring boxing biopic The Hurricane, is penning the screenplay, which focuses on the motivations of those involved in Christ's crucifixion, specifically Pontius Pilate, Herod Antipas, Caiaphas and Judas.
Jonas McCord, the man behind the religious themed 2001 Antonio Banderas thriller The Body, is in talks to direct.

While "The Resurrection of the Christ" is not a sequel/spin-off to "The Passion of the Christ", it will apparently go further in terms of exploring the same subject matter reports Variety.
Producer Bill McKay is developing the $20 million project with Samuel Goldwyn Films which is scheduled for an Easter 2011 release. Jonas McCord ("The Body") will direct.
Dan Gordan ("The Hurricane," "Murder in the First") is writing the screenplay which follows the power, greed and ambition of those involved in the crucifixion -- Pontius Pilate, Herod, Caiaphas and Judas.

He's baaaack! Given what the Bible teaches, we know he wasn't pissed, though. After years of jokes about a possible follow-up to Mel Gibson's box-office storming The Passion Of The Christ, an indie production team is hoping to strike it lucky with another tale from Jesus' life in The Resurrection Of The Christ. It's not an official sequel, but Bill McKay's planned film, with The Body's Jonas McCord directing and The Hurricane's Dan Gordon writing, will focus on the power, greed and ambition of those around the crucifixion, including Pontius Pilate, Caiaphas and Judas. "It's as much about the key players as it is about Jesus," McKay tells Variety. "We want to bring in the Gladiator dimension of the first century against the political milieu of the time." A Gladiator dimension? Jesus vs. tiger! Come on, you know it would be cool. But with Christ taking less...

Antonio Banderas's new movie The Body took 15 years to get to the screen - because film-makers were worried it would offend religious groups. The film sees Banderas star as a Vatican-appointed Jesuit priest alongside British actress Olivia Williams, who plays an Israeli archaeologist. The pair are involved in a search which discovers bones in a Jerusalem tomb - thought to be those of Jesus Christ. The film's director, Jonas McCord is anticipating a backlash from groups of Christians, Jews and Arabs, when the movie is released in Los Angeles and New York on Friday, but insists the film is not intended to offend. He says, "There was a time, nine years ago, that the film was at Universal Pictures. Liam Neeson was ready to sign onto the project, but right before we were going off to do the thing, the then studio chief Sid Sheinberg read the script and said, 'Oh my God, I don't want blood all over Lew Wasserman's door." The studio had just released The Last Temptations Of Christ and were worried about gaining more bad publicity over a religious-themed movie. Years later, with a cast headlined by Banderas and independent financing, McCord finally journeyed to Israel, where principal photography was completed in 1999.
