Magnificent, beyond belief!!! For some reason Broadway Theatre Archive decided not to release it on VHS. Does anyone know why? Also, does anyone know about the 1985 British TV production?
Gielgud was incredible! I had never heard of him before, but I still remember 40 years later his face filling up with tears on live TV receiving the gift of the Browning Version.
Cecil Parker was terrific as the headmaster. The production was so moving it destroyed any enjoyment for either film. The ending was far more powerful, too.
