Man, I was really disappointed when I witnessed that they had all the aces up their sleeves and managed to misfire every attempt to create possibly a great movie. The film opened in a great way, with a cool flashback of the war, and one of the characters looking at the road and seeing still a shadow of a military helicopter, as a remembrance of the past. I liked that touch, but sincerely the film starts going down from there. The reasons, I really don't know, but it looks like there wasn't a care with characters, since there are so many. So, there are many people we don't nothing about, and they leave the film so quickly as they arrived (an example: Ana Bustorff's character, a waste of actress and a real cartoon). Of course there are some great moments (there is a nicely done montage with paralel actions), but the final result comes somewhat sparse, specially due to the multiplicity of characters, and the necessity they had to put them all talking. The final showdown is also very confusing, and we really don't get to know who kills who and why. "A movie about friends", according to the director and the producer, but really a nicely-polished mess. A good score by Xutos e Pontapés, though. See it if you are not very demanding.

Warning: Spoilers
Finally!! a Portuguese action movie! "Inferno" is a tour de force, is a story about a group of war veterans, that reunited often after the war. Incredible, surprisingly and unexpected performances by Julio César, Rogério Samora and Nicolau Breyner.

The first half of the film is brutal, the war is over but they still live in it for the rest of their lives, with their traumas and ghost that torment their souls. The second half of the film is not so good, easily becomes an average action movie, full of gun shots and dead guys.

Its raw portrait of the consequences of war, a must see. If you like this film', i recommend: "20, 13" (another one from Joaquim Leitão) and "Os Imortais"
