Sex & Nudity

  • In one episode Muriel gets amnesia and can't remember anything so her husband tells her that she is a slave woman that works for him.
  • In one episode there is implied prostitution.

Violence & Gore

  • Two episodes imply decapitation.
  • This tv show has lots of mature themes one of them being animal cruelty. Eustace, the elderly man, in series kicks, insults, punches and name calls the dog in almost every episode.
  • Although being a kids show, it's seriously a little creepy
  • Moderate cartoon violence. Punching, kicking, etc.

  • At least one use of "ass" in the episode "Courage VS Mecha-Courage."
  • Damn and hell are used infrequently

  • Eustace is often mutated, injured or dead at the end of an episode. But he always returns intact for the next episode.
  • Very eerie show.
  • Lots of thrilling and intense moments.
  • This show can be given a TV-14 rating for violence, scary scenes, and language.
  • A lot of iris-shrinking moments.
  • There are A LOT of scary moments, monsters, ghosts, and zombies etc. In fact, this show is known as one of the scariest and most disturbing kids cartoons ever made.

Violence & Gore

  • It is Hinted that the old man was abused emotionally by his parents when he was a child.
  • In the episode "King Rameses' Curse" Two characters are implied to be eaten alive by locusts. This is off-camera, but you can hear them scream then suddenly stop.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • In one episode which is supposed to be showing the backstory of Courage it appears that Courage's parents are stolen and sent off into space and the dog is seen paralyzed and crying this can be VERY emotional for kids but after they're sent off into space Muriel comes and adopts him
  • A lot of the times the show may be very intense for kids. This show has some scenes that implies decapitation, and some scary imagery. "The House of Discontent" features a floating black and white realistic head that may frighten children
  • A blue fetus like creature is shown whispering "you're not perfect." This may be unsettling and is one of the scariest moments in the whole show.
