The Defender - A Great, Under Rated Film
The Defender is a cult classic waiting to happen. It's real life, but like Napoleon Dynamite mixed with the Wright Brothers. I highly recommend this documentary (that acts as more of a mock-documentary). You'll be left wondering, "was this for real?"
The Defender follows the factual quest of one man to revolutionize Canada's Air Force. And by revolutionize, I mean go back to a slow, unarmored prop plane in lieu of the F-18 Hornet. The film is unintentionally funny, and quite sad at times. You'll see the only carpeted pool in Manitoba, aircraft equipment pushed to the extreme, and the inside scoop on the politics of trying to get experimental aircraft approved in Canada.
10/10
