A first glimpse at one of Hollywood's Future Great Directors.
okiekate-128 November 2001
Skorodin's eye for controversy combined with Bret Reynolds eloquent dance with the camera lens create a compelling picture that bores relentlessly into the Human spirit. Loosely based on actual events surrounding the FBI's treatment of Native Americans during the 1970's Ian Skorodin delicately tells the story from both sides maintaining an objective view(A difficult task). The film's Stirring conclusion is almost an anti-testament to the adage "For God and For Country".

Warning: Spoilers
Tushka,is the first feature length movie ever written, directed, and produced by an American Indian, Ian Skorodin (Choctaw). This movie was shot and in the can by 1996. Tushka was a selected entry at the 1998 Sundance film festival. In the same year Tushka took us to the Tucson,Arizona International film festival where Tushka won the "Best Narrative Feature", then onto Munich,Germany International film festival and to Amiens,France International film festival. We then attended the American Indian film festival and won the "Horizon Award". Tushka is (fictionalized) based on a true story about John Trudell and the American Indian Movement, Black Panthers, and the F.B.I.'s (Cointelpro)operation.

Recently John Trudell and Heather Ray have finished the "Documentary" on the life and times of John Trudell, entitled "TRUDELL". Both of these films are "Raw" "Provocative" and "True".
