Jackie Stallone, a celebrity astrologer and the mother of Sylvester Stallone, has died. She was 98.
Her death was announced by her son, singer Frank Stallone, in a Facebook post Tuesday.
“This morning my brothers and I lost our mother Jackie Stallone,” he wrote. “She was the mother to four children, Tommy, Sylvester, Frankie and my late sister Toni Ann. She was a remarkable woman working out everyday full of spunk and fearless. She died in her sleep as she had wished. It was hard not to like her, she was very eccentric and flamboyant person. It was a history lesson. Her mind was as sharp as a razor till the day she died.”

There’s really nothing quite like the 1985 pilot for “Glow: Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling,” which led to the cult series in which women portraying heroes and villains battle it out in over-the-top wrestling matches. Watching the nearly one-hour pilot, it’s easy to understand why Netflix found the material so compelling, and worthy of a new original series. Created by Liz Flahive (“Nurse Jackie”) and executive produced by Jenji Kohan (“Orange is the New Black”), “Glow” is centered on the fictional actress Ruth Wilder (Alison Brie), who lands the acting role she’s desperately been searching for.

The original series created by David McClane and Matt Cimber that aired for three seasons is significantly different from what was shot for the 1985 pilot, particularly the opening introductions to the wrestlers.

Alongside an 80s commercial featuring Hulk Hogan in his most terrifying prime, pre-screening bumpers featured a clip of classic women's wrestling from the 1950s: Blond Ballerina vs June Adair with commentary from two male announcers who "sure do love to see a ladies' wrestling match." Then an Alamo programmer took the stage and asked the audience: "Who is your favorite Glow lady?"
