Not a Dutch Treat
parislondon19 July 2002
Claim is a disaster of a movie and went (almost?) straight to video here. Dutch people speaking broken English, Billy Zane failing to portrait a proper Latin (Argentinian) Lover and above all a horrible and very unbelievable script about insurance fraud. Us Dutchies made some bad movies, this is one of the worst. Sorry world.

Boring
Cadette30 December 2005
Boring, boring, boring...nothing happens in this seriously boring film... Whoever wrote the script to this film must have had one of his most uninspiring moments in life. The story in itself could have been a good one but I just couldn't find it in me to develop any interest in neither the characters, the environment nor the story. Not even Billy Zane can pick this film up, even though he's not one of the greatest actors of our time, at least he has some charisma... In this film however there is no sign of it anywhere. And Louis Lombard just walks around like a "pretty girl" pretending to be clever. She should stick to acting in English television series. So whatever you do, don't spoil a perfectly good day or evening, and please don't spend any money, watching this rubbish!

A 58 million dollar claim sunk by the most sexiest insurance agent ever
jazzyka_652 June 2006
Warning: Spoilers
As a "Dutchie" I stumbled on "Claim". Surprise: A movie made by an entire Dutch crew but never heard of. Dutch movies have a thing with sex, it's always extremely explicit and most of the times as a viewer you wonder about its functionality. However lately "we" made better progress on the subject. In this case the lack of it is surprising, but then again this is an action movie. Investigating a suspicious claim Ellen Brachman (Louise Lombard) travels between Europa and Argentina in order to find a "ghost"ship and with it a new lover. She proves the "sinker" but at a high price. The locations, especially Rotterdam (Holland), are nicely filmed and cool to watch, the pace is high, there's lots of subtle humor (Billy Zane as Latin lover/coward is very funny) and one very determined investigator, the beautiful actress Louise Lombard. If you're in for a OK movie night, take a chance on "Claim" you won't be disappointed.

good script, nice locations, one to watch!!! The English is not that fluent I admit, at least it's not dubbed. And I actually liked the latin lover. The latin lover: "ah, you don't like that latin lover stuff. Well neither do I"

Great
