Turkish drama at its best
stockholder30 September 2006
The best Turkish drama series ever made. Every actor/actress plays his/her character with so much heart that sometimes it becomes too breathtaking to watch.

Sener Sen is at his best. Turkan Soray is at her best. The soundtrack is absolutely cool. Every person behind (and on) the screen put great effort in the making of this one.

Turkish television (drama) was never this good.

There are/were a few series that are/were very good at drama.

Calikusu, Super Baba, Unutma Beni, Hirsiz Polis and Ikinci Bahar.

This one lasted just long enough.

Those were the days my friends

January 11th 2001 is a very special day in Turkey. In the evening of that day, the streets all over the country were completely empty when the final episode of Ikinci Bahar was being aired on a TV channel. The title of the series, "Ikinci Bahar" means "second spring", a term used for describing romantic affair between middle aged and mature people. It is the story of ordinary people taking place in traditional Samatya neighbourhood of Istanbul. The leading actors Turkan Soray and Sener Sen are the top stars of Turkish movie history, comparable to Elizabeth Taylor and Al Pacino.

Ikinci Bahar is one of my favorite TV-Series. Turkan Soray and Sener Sen are perfect.

Romance, comedy, family relations, conflict, betrayal.... Ikinci bahar has it all.

Everyone should see that film.

It is sad to write comments in English for such a beautiful Turkish TV series which no language could express one's feelings and sentiments other than Turkish.

Beautiful work by a great cast and leading characters who displayed their hidden talents.

some nights had to wait until 1.00 am to watch the next episode and it was worth the wait.

Turkan Soray and Sener Sen you both were great.I also express my congratulations to the producers, directors and many others who helped to put This Turkish classic together in making of it.

Enjoyed it thoroughly and will watch it again and again.

A very good example that a love story does not have to include a young couple. That is actually what the expression "Ikinci Bahar" refers to.

Ali Haydar is a kebab-master from Antep, where is a city in the east of Turkey. He has three daughters, his wife has past away while she was bearing the "number three".

Hanim is a Thracian, tough woman. She is a widow too and has also a daughter and a son, who are rather troubled. Ali Haydar reluctantly hires her as dishwasher and the story begins...

Ikinci Bahar was a wonderful series, but the final episode unfortunately was really bad.
