• Detective James Van Der Zee : So, how did he take his being fired?

  Bill Owens : I've had to fire a lot of people, Detective. People get upset when they get fired. He got pretty upset.

  Detective James Van Der Zee : He knew that Mr. Araki would see the photos... and he knew he'd show them to you and that you'd call us. I think it's just a warning.

  Bill Owens : But you have to take it seriously.

  Detective James Van Der Zee : Oh, we take it very seriously.

• Bill Owens : If you haven't noticed, this isn't Neiman Marcus. People just wanna come in here with their kids... have a good time, and save a few pennies on paper towels and socks. If they wanted to see yelling and screaming... they'd stay at home.

• Bill Owens : [Yoshi has just walked into Bill's office, carrying the photos Sy brought in to be developed, Bill is looking down at the work on his desk, not looking up]  What is it, Yoshi? You can't just leave your station unmanned down there.

  Yoshi Araki : I think you need to see these, sir.

  Bill Owens : [still not looking up]  What have you got there? Is it the anal sex fiend again?

  [Yoshi doesn't answer... Bill looks up and sees the photos with Sy's name on them... he removes his glasses and thumbs through them, seeing they're candid photos of his daughter]
