Babe Hardy
boblipton24 November 2022
When rude young men accost Nellie Farron, boyfriend Oliver Hardy isn't up to dealing with them. However, a telegram to his mother, Eva Bell, soon has them facing a far more formidable foe.

Lubin sent a company south to Florida every winter to make mostly comedies. That's where Oliver Hardy first encountered the movie-making side of film; before then, he had been a singer. Here, he's a supporting player, although he mugs thoroughly in a manner suggested by his nickname, 'Babe'.

Like most of the short comedies produced by the company, it's got one gag carried out at length and without much in the way of ornamentation.
