Man how I miss this show...
TheLittleSongbird24 May 2010
I don't think it was the best animated show ever, as it is occasionally clichéd and formulaic, but I still liked it for its really good and interesting concept. The animation was nice and colourful, with stunning galactic backgrounds, interesting character features and I loved how Lloyd's house was animated. The music was a nice touch as well, the main theme is still memorable for me. The story lines were occasionally formulaic I agree, but they were also original and creative, and the writing was funny and smart. The characters were somewhat clichéd, Brittany's bratty sister persona is not exactly familiar territory, but I liked the character still for her looks and personality. And Lloyd is an appealing title character, so is Eddie. Also the voice acting was dynamic and top-notch. Overall, I really liked this show. 8/10 Bethany Cox

best kid's show on tv
ricochetrob9 October 2003
If you remember the glory days of Saturday morning cartoons (that would be the 70's), then this show will undoubtedly be a delight to you. Very well written, with interesting story lines (that aren't abandoned half-way through, like some other shows I won't bother to mention), and animation that is clear AND colorful. This is a clean, crisp, articulate show that makes this viewer 'nostalgia-satisfied'. Great job Disney, I hope you intend to try and duplicate this triumph!

really touching
lululemongrl31 March 2008
i thought Lloyd in space was really nice show. i liked the episode love beam #9 when Douglas beams this love thing at Brittany for Lloyd and she falls in love with him. Lloyd thinks it's great at first but then Brittany gets to attached and Lloyd either chooses stuck up- Brittany or head over heals for Lloyd Brittany. Lloyd chooses stuck up Brittany any when she changes she brings Lloyd to this old tree that has words on the tree saying Brittany loves Lloyd which she put when they were very little and just met. Lloyd gets told by Brittany that she has had a crush on him for all those years. adding really apologetic music in the background it almost made me cry. this episode is my all time favorite. it was very touching. (tear tear) i think that Lloyd In Space was a very good show.. before it got canceled. now it is only just a canceled memory show that is shown on Family channel (46) if you want to watch its on at 8 15am and some times at 3pm.. so anyways for any one else that is out there and is a fan of this show and feels my joy for Lloyd in space.. your not alone(: out of all the shows i have watched(cartoons) Lloyd in space is my number one touching heart filled show. thank you for reading this paragraph my very long paragraph i give this show a 10 of 10

...Boaring!!!!!

OK. If you ask me this show pretty much sucks. I remember how excited I was as a ten year old to find out that this awesome new show was coming on, on ABC's Saturday morning line up right after "Recess". However I soon found out that it was an exact repeat of "recess" everything from the same cheesy lines and plots, to the same cheesy characters, to the same lame voices. It sure shows that the creators got board with a perfectly good show ("Recess") and got worried that they would get canceled. So they decided to create the perfect excuse for a show "Lloyd in Space".There's not much else to say about this lame show about a "mis-fit" "Teenager" "in space". He's a pretty big idiot, and if you ever have to choose between this show and "recess", pick Recess. Its easier to watch, flows better and has more original plot lines.

Something Beautiful...
BrittanySavesMegan6 September 2004
Words cannot describe how this formulaic, cliché farce about a green alien teen (and his daily struggles) makes me feel. Not since before the airing of "Fillmore" had Disney EVER put out something so captivating. Many have said that "Lloyd in Space" is basically just "Recess" in a different wrapper, but I beg to differ. Although Recess was a gem in it's own right, it didn't come across as having the same production quality as Lloyd in Space, or the same writing/acting quality (Yes, even voice-over actors can be bad). Although its not original (in any way, shape or form), "Lloyd In Space" carries a certain signature style, which I believe can NEVER EVER be duplicated (With exceptions held for "Paul & Joe", of course). I'd give anything to have a final episode placed in production, where every question us "Die-hard" fans have could be answered

The verdict is in... It's a chilled out of this world kinda show
ThunderKing624 June 2020
Lloyd in space is one of those great underrated shows that you never hear about anymore.

It was good times to sit and chill to eps of LIS.

Its unique cuz it takes place in space although it has the cliché premise that all shows have.

Annoying sibling check Hot mean bully check Cool white friend in space check Stereotypes based on size and hobbies check

LIS still was a mature great show that is under appreciated.

Contrary to popular belief, this is something special

Lloyd in space may fall into the category of your typical run of the mill cartoon, but that is not to say that this cartoon will disappoint. It won't. It has very likable characters that may look familiar, but its lead character is one of a kind. Lloyd has a lot to learn about himself and life in general. The interesting thing for kids is, Lloyd is experiencing his turbulent teen years in a world very unfamiliar to any of us. Lloyd has many adventures in space all the while learning very important life lessons. The first episode when Lloyd turns thirteen is very touching and insightful when he discovers just what being a man means. I think this is a cartoon all kids should watch.

One my favorites
mindlessmoviemaster23 October 2021
This show is underrated and doesn't get the love it deserves from the voice cast to the story lines it is one of those late 90s early 2000s cartoons we got from Disney that was fire! They should put it up on Disney plus until then I will just keep watching em on YouTubes.

A minimal effort
nancyglos27 August 2003
In 2000, Paul and Joe, the creators of Recess (and also the key writers of "Rugrats" from 1991 to 1995, also known as the good era of "Rugrats", before Nick took over) realized that "Recess" is on its last legs before getting canceled by Disney (in other words, "Recess" was close to the 65th episode). So, they made another show, "Lloyd in Space". That turns out to be nothing more than some cheap-ass (sorry) imitation of Recess with aliens, robots, and spaceships thrown into it. Lloyd, like TJ in "Recess", is just another misfit kid with misfit friends (except that Lloyd is not a schemer, unlike TJ and TJ is not a dork unlike Lloyd). Like in "Recess", the adults are treated like tyrants who make life tough for children by making rules and blowing off steam at them, and an example is Lloyd's mother, who is portrayed as strict on her kids (also, the robot teacher in school is strikingly similar to Mrs. Finster in "Recess"). Like in "Recess", there are characters on the show that are rich, popular, and gossipy bitches (sorry, again) that talk badly about Lloyd and his friends and that they think they're hot stuff and that their vocabulary is of barely anything more than "whatever", "totally", and "like..." (that blue alien bitch [sorry] is strikingly similar to Ashley A. in "Recess"). And heck, certain characters sound like characters in "Recess" (Lloyd sounds like Gus, Eddie sounds like Gelman [although Gelman is a bully on "Recess" and Eddie is not a bully], the robot teacher sounds like the secretary on "Recess" [I think her name is Mrs. Lemon], Douglas's mother sounds like Mrs. Grotke, and that that blue alien woman sounds like Ashley A.). If I hear people saying that this show is fresh and original, they have a very bad taste in entertainment. I give this a 5 out of 10

The Passion Of The Lloyd
ChoneFiggins22 April 2004
The movie is a brilliant artwork molded together by a human who is too cool for air in outer space (spoiled humans with their "air") and a living brain who's really smart!

This series is much more than first perceived. Lloyd obviously represents Jesus and his every day struggles of a telepathic sister, green skin, and petty robot clone.

The show represents Generation X and our urge to stick it to the man (reference to the episode of the same name).

To put it simply, this revolutionary masterpiece stands for all that is American.

Very Unoriginal Cartoon.
dootuss25 October 2001
I happen to agree with the user's comments on this show. This cartoon is indeed the most unoriginal cartoon i've ever seen. It just recess with teenagers who are alien beings.Talk about pure unoriginality. Lloyd is just another dorky kid with dorky friends(except Kurt, he's the BEST!). Worst of all, one of the characters in this show is resemblence to Ashley A (why god, WHY??!! Why must we put up with characters with traits like HER'S???!!) of Recess fame. The show would be better off without characters like that. But still without that, it's still unoriginal.

Not That Bad
sixersgurl9113 November 2002
Although this had to be one of the most unoriginal and 'kiddie' cartoons ever I can help myself from watching it. I mean watching little green alien people deal with everyday 13 year old life is... well priceless. I mean, I can't help from laughing at this show( watching an alien get dumped by a ...) it's strange, yet awesome.

I give it a 7.5 out of 10

HUH? I'm so confused.
xXILoveOzzyXx24 August 2003
The voices on this show CONFUSE me. They use the same other voices from others shows, and it makes me think I'm watching something else. COME ON! I have heard Maci from As Told By Ginger, Patrick from Spongebob Squarepants, Chaz from Rugrats, Suzie from Rugrats, and Harold from Hey Arnold, just to name a few, it's weird.

Pleasant cartoon
vallant26 June 2003
I find Lloyd In Space a very pleasant and diverting cartoon. Even if conceptually it is not perhaps terribly original, it works quite well enough. The voicing of the main characters is well done. Courtland Mead as Lloyd and Justin Shenkarow as Eddie are particularly convincing, and Diedrich Bader as Harvulian "Boomer" Standervault is hilarious. It's also interesting to note, along with co-creator Joe Ansolabehere and musical wizard Jim Lang, some of the voice artists (E.G., Shenkarow, Anndi McAfee, Dan Castellaneta etc.) from Hey Arnold! as well.

my kids want new Loyd in space episodes
Awqueenie28 March 2005
My kids like Loyd in space and are sad that there are no new episodes. they even Rivi them so make some new episodes please. I don't have a lot to say about this but it has to be 10 lines. I just told my kids I would come online and let you know they want more episodes. I know some people don't like Loyd but who cares there are plenty of kids who do. You should make new episodes for those who like it. We have three Disney channels you might make some new and put it on one of them. Loyd in space is great great great make some new episodes. Its sad that if you want to write it has to run on and on. I bet some people be like why bother if you have to write a essay on Loyd in Space just for someone to see your comment
