Karen L. Wolf stayed on set and threatened to fire anyone who questioned her script. When actors protested that the lines didn't make sense and wanted to work through their scenes, Karen refused to allow any changes to be made.
According to director Tor Ramsey, he was pressured a lot during the filming by Karen L. Wolf and John A. Russo, who made him use their friends as the film crew even though Ramsey wanted to hire other people. After screening the Directors Cut of the film, Wolf took the film away from Ramsey, hired a new editor and even looped many lines to correct the plot holes of the new cut.

Sheriff Randolph gives Matt and Laurie the history of zombie activity in the diner. He says the first outbreak was in 1969, referring to Night of the Living Dead (1968). He then says the second outbreak was in 1986, referring to The Return of the Living Dead (1985).
Tom Savini has been dismissive of the film. In an interview, he said that it was originally meant to be a serious horror film but turned out horrible.
