Very Cute Series
KatherinePetersdorf30 June 2013
So Little Time was a very cute series, I enjoyed it when I was a preteen, each episode made me laugh. I think the reason it ended so fast was because there wasn't enough of a long term story line to keep the series going. The mother and father were still obviously in love and the moment they got back together the show ended, and if they didn't angry viewers would make the show end.

I also didn't like the way that Riley treated Larry, he worshiped her and she used him like a tissue. She let him follow her around like a lap dog and then didn't date him. I thought he was cute.

I would still recommend the series.

The best Olsen Twins show since "Full House"
StartingAllOver1416 July 2009
"So Little Time" may not be a great show, but it's still a entertaining one. When the show first came out, I used to watch it because I found it a fun show and mostly because of the Olsen Twins. Lately I've re-watched some episodes again for nostalgia and I still consider this show as a cute one.

Like mentioned, The Olsen Twins is a reason for both watching and liking the show (in a objective point of view). I used to watch "Full House" back in the 90's, but not necessarily just for twins, but because it was a entertaining and funny show. The twins were adorable as kids and it isn't strange that they got so popular, cause they had a natural, childish charisma. As teenagers they didn't had the same appeal like they used to have (logically, cause they were growing up), but they were still likable and carried much of "So Little Time". But to be realistic; At that age they had mostly played "normal teen" parts and hadn't had to so much chance to play deeper parts like for example Dakota Fanning and Haley Joel Osment did as kids. Still, the girls had charisma and fortunately a good comedic timing.

The rest of the cast also made the show. My favorite used to be and it's still Larry (Jesse Head), a goofy and innocent character who was likable and adorable. Eric Luthes was also likable as the teens fun-loving and carefree father Jake Carlson. Claire Carey was a perfect fit as the twins business mother Macy, but there's no doubt that Taylor Negron as the Carlson's family domestic Manuelo was the most funniest and charismatic character (despite he wasn't my personal favorite, but he was still funny). Natashia Williams as the vain and times self-centered Tedi was also a fun character, despite her vainness made her unlikeable at times, but she had her moment of kindness. The only misconception is Amy Davidson as Cammie. She was a fun and energetic character, but could have been given more funnier lines.

Otherwise, "So Little Time" didn't distinguish it self from other teens sitcoms. The show was obviously aimed for kids and tweens, but was fortunately never typically childish. There were some bad lines, plot holes and some cheesy guest roles at times. But fortunately the good things weighted over the negative things here and at least the show didn't leaned entirely on typically sitcom clichés.

Wonderful Show
oceansplash7714 May 2004
This is a refreshing show that the whole family can enjoy. It's nice to sit back and enjoy this funny show. The Olson Twins stand for true family television. Unfortunately, some smug adults did not like this show that centers on attracting children and teens, so the show got cancelled. Television shows such as this one should be judged only by children and young adults. "So Little Time" should have been allowed to continue on to provide good wholesome television for the whole family. With all of the trashy stuff on television, shows like So Little Time are a blessing.

This isn't so great
unknown27019 April 2007
I was( and probably still am ) an olsen twin fan, I caught their earlier show Two of a kind and really liked because it featured issues that you could relate to and showed that the characters were human like us and didn't always have everything.

Onto so little Time, OK for a start the olsen twins are older (around fifteen or sixteen) and they are playing two characters called riley and chloe, they live in a very nice house on the beach and their parents are divorced so they live with their one parent and male nanny.

OK, one thing I didn't like the fact the show seemed unrealistic, the one that I really couldn't understand was the fact that although their parents are divorced they're constantly with each other, this doesn't happen in the real world because people who are divorced wouldn't be seeing each other on a daily basis and it's also very unclear to the viewers that they're divorced. The plots of the episodes are not memorable and the casting wasn't very good either, the male nanny was just terrible due to the fact that he had a obviously fake accent. Also the girls just seem obsessed with boys and don't appear to go through any life struggles(I'm not saying life is depressing, but sometimes life can difficult for us).

What i also don't understand was that the two girls don't seem affected by the fact that their parents are divorced, this would affect any person in someway in the real world.

Overall I found this to be a very bad show, it was unrealistic and not memorable. I honestly cant recommend this to anyone, if you're a lad like myself who likes the olsen twins you could watch it to see them look good, but to perfectly honest that's not a good enough reason.

If you want to watch a good children's series with realist issues then watch Drake and Josh or Two of a kind.

Bottom line is avoid this.

DVD BOXSET - COMPLETE WITH BONUS DISC (2 episodes never aired on bonus disc)
quinn-morgendorffer11 October 2006
I bought the DVD boxset of 'so little time' with the bonus disc containing both unaired episodes plus the four discs which contained the 26 episodes airred for $20 the other day at a used store. it was mint box, mint DVD holders, no scratches on disc, or anything. i donated my spare DVD of 'so little time - volume 4' to the library as they have volumes 1 and 2 of so little time on VHS, and only volume 2 on DVD.

note - VHS's contain behind the scene footage, while dvds contain bloopers. i believed the DVD boxset bonus dics contains behind the scenes stuff - unsure, just watched the episodes on it. they rocked!

Well-made, clever, happy show
blank512427 August 2015
This show is such a cheerful and lovely depiction of life, but I don't feel it's saccharine or artificial (because of the ironic tone and self-consciousness of its humor), just charming. The actors all deliver their lines with such ease of manner and good timing. They seem to have astuteness and intelligence and seem to be reasonable, good-natured people, which makes their characters even more likable. Their ease of delivery and humility (because it's not a big show) and the clever, ironic humor of the scripts gives the show a rare effortlessness and kind of a feeling of familiarity/coziness (they don't try hard to be funny like a person would with a stranger) that makes you feel at ease watching it. I also think the show is quite poignant at times. It has a refreshing light-hearted way of addressing life's 'everyday' dilemmas (such as when Jake is talking to Teddi about how adults sometimes forget how to 'have fun') that I feel is actually more effective and cutting to one's own heart than a heavy, didactic approach.

I also think the show was very creative and sincerely effortful (i.e. the Manuelo-turtle poster prop being made for just for one joke, the song sung by Larry for the War of the Bands episode, the poem written by Riley, Larry's speech about cleaning up the highway, points in the capital punishment debate, etc.) and far from rote. The family situation was unique (dad not working and trying to 'find himself,' dad living in trailer park, male nanny, separated parents) but it was depicted naturally (didn't seem over-emphasized or gimmicky at all). The plots are very interactive with the settings and are interesting (bush fire causing everyone to evacuate to school, volunteering in retirement home, depiction of overwhelmingly positive person in a wheelchair, etc.) Such a happy, balanced show that depicts everyday life with reasonability and good judgment. I ramble (this is too long) but I don't think the show/writers/actors are given enough credit. I only didn't like the sometimes cheesy 'Mary-Kate and Ashley on-the-set' intros to the later episodes, which don't seem to be delivered with any irony. I appreciate this show even more than when I was younger (I really love the actors/characters in the show, from Ms. Westmore to Manuelo, they just seem so good-natured)

Cute Show!
fairysk8r7 February 2003
This show is really cute! It is entertaining and sweet. Great for the under 14 crowd. The Olsen twins provide humor and the cast is very good. The house keeper guy is hilarious! The mother on the show makes the show very interesting. The show takes place in southern California, so there are great locations and scenes.

"I don't hate it!"
luckyirishgrl074 March 2004
In fact, I love this show! My brother and I just finished buying all four of the So Little Time DVDs of the show. I honestly don't know why all of the people who seem to hate this show are posting comments because we don't need anymore of your complaining! I love the girls' fashion in the show and their hairstyles (in the first season). The first season rocked! The second season was ok, but they went wrong with Larry's hair. It was great first season, then they attempted to change it... I'm not striking them down at all, I'm just wonderin' what was goin' though their minds! :) Cammie was funny sometimes, but I was not a fan of Larry and Cammie's relationship. I was a Riley/Larry supporter. They would have been SO CUTE together! Anyways, I think this show was hilarious! Just some of the looks they have are great. For example, in the episode "The Breakfast Club" when Chloe is trying to get into detention, she says, "You can get into detention for that!" when she sees Larry has taken a frog out of the biology lab. She has an idea and the look she has on her face is just hilarious. She then says, "Gimme that!". This show is meant to be funny so viewers shouldn't take it so seriously and be so critical. I liked Two of Kind, but I LOVED So Little Time and was really sad when I found out it was being cancelled. Who cares if the show isn't completely like reality, as so many of you pointed out. I live in California and some people DO live in beach houses. DUH! So stop saying that people don't! As far as the whole "they're 14 and most girls that age don't think about boys that much.." crap, I must ask you, you weren't thinking about guys?! Whatever, I was, as do MOST NORMAL girls. This show is NOT a waste of time, AT ALL. So go out and have some fun. Watch So Little Time.

Sweet & funny!:)!
margaretha28 April 2003
I just read another user comment on this show and didn't like the way they dissed Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen! They are growing into two fine young actresses and does not deserve any of that abuse! My opinion of the show is that it's sweet & funny (nice to see two sisters being more than just that, but also as best friends)! I think it was a really nice show!!!!

A good series
cooling_boy119 January 2006
This is my top five TV-series i've ever seen. It is very funny sometimes and " The twins" do a really great job.I don't usually look at series but this was an exception. I saw the DVD in a shop and bought it at once because i really love Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. So i had big expectations on the DVD but i didn't get disappointed at all. It was exactly as i thought when i first saw the DVD in the shop that it should be really great. It was even better than i could imagine before i had seen it. It was very interesting and with a lot of jokes frequently. In the series they meet a lot of new boys that they sometimes , of course, fall in love with. It becomes a lot of kisses. If you like this kind of "love stories" with cute girls in you are recommended to see this series. I promise that you won't get disappointed at all. So what are you waiting for? buy it now!

Horrific
sundrop3 January 2002
I wrote on here earlier after seeing about two episodes that this show was okay, because I thought it might get better so I didn't try to hit it too hard. But now I see I was wrong. It's absolutely horrible.

The Olsen twins are just terrible in this one. I loved Two of a Kind, but this show is just AWFUL! All they do is sit on their beds and talk to the camera. After awhile, they get bored and just have to call boys! In my opinion, someone would have major mental issues if this is the way they spend life. No one I know, not even preps, act like this!

Why do the parents spend all their spare time together? If they like each other so much, why'd they separate in the first place? Also, why does the mother try to look exactly like Sally Wheeler (Carrie from Two of a Kind)? I've seen some scenes where if her back's turned, you would almost believe it was Carrie. I think there needs to be some difference between them.

Manuelo MUST be talking in Spanish. I don't think anyone can understand him. If he continues to talk like this, they should just let everyone talk in Spanish. If they did, it would probably be a better show!

I have seen many better shows. I liked Full House, and Two of a Kind very much. Also, some of their movies. Most of them are stupid because they always try to look like they're so good but they really just look like dorks.

Perhaps the worst thing is that the Olsen twins don't even seem to realize how bad this show is! They've probably never really had to work very hard to improve their acting or get a show. I mean, they're probably going to get to do a show anyway, whether they train for it or not! They must have the time of their lives doing this, getting heavily made up and then grinning at the camera. But don't they realize that people don't have the time of their lives watching this? I wonder why they are the EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS! They haven't had much real producing experience, and probably little to no training. In a way I almost don't blame them. They have no idea what they are doing.

This show had better improve soon. It probably won't get cancelled, though, since it's on ABC family. Maybe someone will someday decide to improve it.

Quite possibly the worst thing that the Olsen twins have ever participated in
Willow19229 December 2001
And I thought Passport to Paris was bad. It's a shame that a show like this was allowed to be made. It's even more of a shame that we're supposed to take it seriously. And it's just plain insulting that some people actually do.

Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen are two talented little b***s. I mean the kids were quoted as saying that all that teenage girls thought about were "fashion and boys." The only reason that they've gotten anywhere was because people think that they are so cute. If they were seen as ugly would they be as famous as they are now? I agree with citydance247 who said that they should just be models. You would think after about 15 years of acting experience they would have learned a little something along the way.

Well, The Olsen twins are back. It's sad that their show "Two of a Kind" got canceled so early because it could have gone somewhere. But now they have this little ill conceived pile of crap and we're supposed to be buying it.

All of the characters are completely and utterly annoying. The two people who play the parents couldn't act their way out of a wet paper bag. They are supposed to be separated but they are always together. At least they have a mother on this show though. The man who plays the nanny could do so many better things. You might recognize him as the pizza boy from "Fast Times at Ridgemont High." But he's stuck playing an underappreciated male nanny with a bad Hispanic accent. Why would you hire a male nanny to watch to little girls anyway? Larry is not the comic relief. He is an annoying little twirp who hangs around because he thinks that Riley is cute. And of course Mary-Kate and Ashley are playing two shallow ditzes (oh how new and different for them) and all they do is parade around the house complaining how their parents aren't together, fretting over which boy is cuter, and wearing designer clothes that no real teenager would be able to afford. And Teddie who plays the fashion model shouldn't even be on the show. And what is with the fake background of the house?

You can tell from when the show starts that it is going to be crap. It has the twins mainly walking on the beach, barefoot and turning around while flipping their hair when we reveal their names. The narration sequences are a sad way of avoiding actually showing us what the real conflict is.

Real teenagers are not like this at all. I would know considering the fact that I actually am one. They don't only worry about clothes and boys. They worry about their grades and what they are going to do with their lives. The fact that this show claims to show what real teenage life is like is just plain insulting. Don't waste your time watching this sugar coated piece of fluff unless you want to feel better about yourself.

"Haven't you see TV? It has nothing to do with talent".
GreenTurtle101017 October 2003
That title came at a perfect time. I was channel surfing, came upon this show, decided to sign on and trash it and then, out of nowhere I hear the redheaded girl on the show say that quote! HA!

Well, onto the trashing: I think that this is, by far, the worst Mary-Kate and Ashley project ever (not that many of their other ones were any good). The directors try to make it seem so "hip" and "new age". You can tell by the setting and decor that they're really trying to appeal to viewers as stereotypical California teens.

They failed horribly.

The parents on the show are horrible, but yet again, so is everyone else. I honestly don't see how the twins have come as far as they have. I think their agents just played their cards right. Anyway, the acting, jokes, everything is disgustingly bad. The "jokes" they crack are so unfunny, I'm not sure it's safe to call them jokes.

I give this show 1 star out of 10. But only because, when playing critic, I don't think you're allowed to a show -5 stars, like this one deserves.

Horrible!
playdoughqueen24 August 2001
This show is really really bad!!! Its very boring, and beyond stupid. At least in Two of a Kind, the Olsen twins' characters were different from eachother. Ashley was the preppy, straight A student and Mary Kate was the tom boy. But in So Little Time, Chloe and Riley (the names!) are exactly the same as each other. I can't even tell which one is which (even though one as permed hair and one has straight hair). Also, the characters are boring and some of them are just annoying. Especially the Larry and the housekeeper Manuelo!

I think the girls are trying way too hard to look "cool." The clothes they wear are just too much. And all the makeup? They're trying to look like models or something, and its not working. It only makes them look stupid.

The "jokes" are not funny at all. The unbelievable part is that this show is actually filmed in front of a live audience. Personally, I don't know why anyone would want to watch this show being done live. Its bad enough watching it on tv.

Basically, this show is a waste of time. I can't believe that shows like this one are allowed to be shown. Trust me, avoid it at all costs.

Oh dear!
sminkydink13 January 2002
OK, I'm appalled at this show. I know TV isn't supposed to be real but this show didn't even give the pretence of trying to be real. I'm 16 years old so I remember being 14-15 really clearly and I never acted like the twins do in this, nor did my friends (or anyone in my school). There's so much more to life and when you're 14 you are totally aware of this. 'So Little Time' is an insult to teenage girls everywhere.

I think Mary-Kate and Ashley are great, and 'Two Of A Kind' was hilarious but I'm sorry to say that the high points of their career died when 'Two Of A Kind' did. Its a shame.

Absolutely awful
ramshot15 May 2003
This is, by a mile, the worst comedy series I have ever seen, and I have seen many. I've seen around 5 episodes, which I looked through simply because I was amazed that anything this bad would survive for more than a few episodes. Not a SINGLE joke got even a smile from me. EVERY single joke was either utterly predictable or old, the actors are truly horrible without exception and the only positive thing about the series is the cuteness of the twins. Many things are wrong in the series but my god, who WRITES THIS GARBAGE? :-D

Moonie_8814 July 2001
I think this show is cool.Especially the theme song "So Little Time" by Arkansas.I'm glad they tell which songs are from which artist because that's very helpful.I would have to say Mary-Kate and Ashley are a little bit more mature for their age. I do miss their old series "Two Of A Kind".It use to be on ABC.I really hope I can find my "Kid'R'Us" Spring 1999 issue!

This show is pretty average quality, but I find the story line a little unbelievable. The plot: The dad lives in a trailer in Malibu and still comes over to his estranged wife's house? The parents don't even look old enough to be parents! And Larry's (boy who lives next door)weirdness is exploited. Oh, and don't forget Tedi, your average run-of-the-mill supermodel that sometimes drops in. As far as entertainment value, this show has its funny moments and is worth checking out. Like that "zany" Manuelo says, "I don't hate it!"

this show really stinks
buttercup120923 December 2001
i would have to agree with the majority of the responses on this page in saying that this show stinks. but unlike some people, i knew before i even saw it that it was going to be stupid. i have never liked the olsen twins, simply because they make me and all the other girls their age look spacey and pathetic, and they have completely brainwashed eight year old girls into thinking that fifteen-year old girls only care about boys and make-up. this infuriates me because some teenagers actually care about the world around and most teenagers would be upset if their parents were separated. just watching their show makes me embarrassed for them. i mean i could go into more but other responses have already done that for me. basically what i think is, the olsen twins need to go back to junior high and stop producing more and more horrible movies and tv shows (by the way, no offense to anyone in junior high..... i'm sure u act ten times more mature than the olsen twins).

Ugh! (There will be some spoilers so be careful!)
vegassweetheart22 October 2002
Warning: Spoilers
Ugh! This series is one of the worst that I have seen in a long time. The characters are predictable and the plot is silly. You have these PERFECT little girls who are trying to act like they are 30 years old. Reality check! They aren't even 18 years old! They treat everything like it is all one big joke, then you don't really care about the outcome of the characters well being. For example, (this is a spoiler!) in one episode,(SPOILER!APPROACHING!)they are visiting elderly people at a retirement center. When one of the twins visit with a elderly person, they always die when she is around them. She thinks this is her fault. When she goes to talk to her father about it, she acts so comical. Like death is just one big joke to entertain. It's not. It did not amuse me in the slightest, instead it drew me away from the show.

If you enjoyed their other series "Two of A Kind" don't watch this one. It is the complete opposite with, crummy writing, silly plots and predictable characters.

Good,Funny,could of been great
latelya228 June 2002
I think So Little Time is an good show, it's not great, but it is funny, I liked watching the show, I enjoyed it. I think this show could of been great if the Olsen twins would of worked at it more, I mean they are executive produces. They could of made this show better if the girls wore normally clothes, (we already know they are into fashion, I mean that is one of the reasons why they cancelled the show, another is they look to perfect, and are in every scenes, both of them has to be in the same scenes at the same time, together, what's up with that? Why cant `Riley be somewhere, and `Chole' be with her `Cammie and `Larry' and why don't `Larry and `Lennox' hang out, they are guys. Anyways I'm not really into Mark-Kate and Ashley, but I think this show if funny, it really has that Family thing going on-Family Channel, and if they think they will make another TV series like So Little Time, they are crazy, they can't remake it, I think they could still fix the show, if the girls felt like making more episodes.

Boring!
Casey348809 July 2001
I thought my mom was just exaggerating when she said this series sucked, but she was right! The twins are so boring. They're all giggly and spacey, which gives a bad rep for blondes. I wouldn't give this show a year. Two of a Kind was so much better, and I didn't like that one a whole lot. Whoever came up with this idea for a new series for them, should be fired.

It Isn't The Best Of Mary-Kate And Ashley
SpicyLilChica75715 December 2001
I love Mary-Kate and Ashley, but this show I hate! First off Chloe and Riley's lives are not real. They live by the water in some beach house in Malibu California. It makes there lives seem so fake. They go to bed pretty and dress in different close everyday. The school they attend is so fake also. School isn't like that unless your a sophisticated prep. Two Of A. Kind was more realistic then this show, although Two Of A. Kind had its moments where you were like "Yeah If I did that my parents would..." but this show is worse. MK&A I would have expected a little more at of you!

Show is not bad
KentuckyWildcat14 January 2003
First off this show was not bad. It wasn't the best show I have ever seen, but still it wasn't bad. Also the Olsen twins are not bad actors. They just end up starring in the same kind of shows and movies all the time. Maybe when they turn 18 they will try to make some "Big Screen" movies because that would be better then all these made for video movies.
