Wow.....it's hard to imagine a concert with this much energy and excitement! Tina puts on some show! It must have cost big bucks just to produce this extravaganza. The fans - thousands of which filled London's Wembley Stadium - certainly got their money's worth. They, too, are entertaining and tremendous fans. I can see why Turner acknowledges them as the "best fans ever" over her long concert career. I have never seen a crowd so pumped up.
This was the 60-something-year-old Turner's final tour. Her voice has never been much "to write home about" but on stage she's electric and so are the young women dancers behind her. Wow - what an amazing sight they are, at least for these male eyes. The three women - English, French and Croatian - are riveting in their looks, costumes and dancing
Turners's songs are generally good, especially the faster numbers. Some of them, most notably "Better Be Good To Me," are spectacular. You watch and hear numbers like that and you can understand why most of her shows over the years were sold out.
The camera-work is first-rate, done by a director who knows what he's doing, although I do wish they would have held some of the shots longer. They flash by so quickly it's tough to fully take in what you're seeing at times.
This concert, for the most part (perhaps not the slow songs) will get your heart pumping and blood flowing, especially the finale. It's just great entertainment. By the time it's done, you're worn out.
