...Why is Jaimy Mahlon not credited by IMDb for this show?
jpowell18013 October 2008
Jaimy Mahlon was one of the cool things I remember about the AGR, and yet she isn't listed here on IMDb as a cast member. Why? Someone has posted a little of this show on YouTube, but nothing with the lovely Jaimy in it. This show brings back memories of a cooler Sci-Fi channel (yes, I know it's a Canadian show, but Sci Fi showed it here in the States). Those were the days, about a decade ago, when they also had Sci Fi Buzz and a few other shows - they'd do much better to return to that sort of format than to keep producing all those lousy modern-day B-movies. With BSG about to end, the only thing Sci Fi will really have going for it will be Atlantis and all those Stargate reruns. I wish somebody would post whole episodes of the AGR somewhere.

Bottled Cool

Greetings, fellow Pepsi drinkers. I used to watch this show every week on the Sci-Fi channel, which carried it here in the U.S. (it was aired on YTV in Canada, where I seem to recall reading it evolved from a cable-access series). Lively and well-produced, it was basically a fanboy newsmagazine, with Phil (in Toronto) and Nick (in New York, sporting any of various bright haircolors) reviewing comic books, video games and sci-fi. I remember feeling terribly uncool while watching - but, believe me, I'm a pretty cool guy; it's just that Phil and Nick (and their various guest hosts, including Ben Stiller and Kevin Smith) were a few million degrees cooler. I was, however, able to take solace in the fact that neither seemed to appreciate Sailor Moon, which first arrived in North America during the run of this series. (In fact, they were a tad harsh on it - the losers.) Regardless, I always wanted to be like Nick. He was soooooo cool! In fact, the whole show was just a helluva lot of fun to watch.

great tv show about comics and pop culture
smurdley928 May 2002
this was a great tv show that used to air on YTV, a canadian channel. i dont know if theyre still making it, but i hope they are because it was basically THE tv show for pop culture. although its main focus was comics-both mainstream and independent, there were also video games, music, movies, card games, and lotsa cool pop culture stuff. it was a GREAT show with good guest stars (they had Ben Stiller host one show) and interviews with many famous people in the comics industry (Stan Lee, Will Eisner, Daniel Clowes, and a whole bunch of other artists and cartoonists and writers)the show was also written in a humorous style, with the hosts always joking around and making fun of some of the stuff they were reviewing and talking about. as far as i know, it's the only tv show of its kind, so if youre into comics, and you see this in the tv guide, its definitely worth checking it out.

(PS, if theres any Will Eisner fans out there, email me)
