This is the first film from the 2000's to be inducted into the National Film Registry. Which also makes it the first film from the 21st century to be inducted.
Nearly all the clips incorporated into this film are from footage that has been damaged due to poor storage, neglect, or ravaged by time and the elements. Nothing was done to accelerate the decomposition process.
Selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the National Film Registry in December 2013. It was the earliest film from the 21st century to be preserved until Into the Arms of Strangers: Stories of the Kindertransport (2000) broke its record.
