LONDON -- U.K. format operator Action Time on Thursday announced deals with U.S. producers aimed at boosting its stateside on-air shows roster in the States. The British producer/distributor has licensed celebrity-based reality format The Club to independent entertainment producer Dick Clark Productions. The show, which has been jointly commissioned by Britain's ITV1 and ITV2 channels, puts three celebs in charge of rival bars and pits them against each other in a battle to become the most successful. Action Time has also signed producer Jeff Margolis to reformat ITV game show Britain's Brilliant Prodigies for the U.S. market. The show features stars from the worlds of entertainment and sport who make presentations to the winners of categories ranging from music, drama, dance and sport. Announcing the deals, Action Time joint managing director Caroline Beaton said the U.S. remained a key territoriy. "The U.S. has been a key territory for us this year and it is fantastic that we have a two-way flow of programming deals with the states," she said. "Dick Clark Prods. and Jeff Margolis are leading names in U.S. production and these deals demonstrate our continued focus on both producer and broadcaster relationships."...
