There's an in-joke in the game. One of the evil spirits belongs to a sinful rock musician called Jimmy Ray Christian. This actor who voices him is credited as Jimmy Ray Christian or himself. That's because Jimmy Ray Christian is actually the game's sound designer who voiced "himself".
According to the Gamespot website and the French Joystick magazine, the game was created with the innovative EDEN graphics engine, developed by Heartland Enterprises. The EDEN technology allows the user to pick up, examine and use about 60 objects, meet 10 characters, and have them interact dynamically with multiple light sources and shiny surfaces in fully-rendered environments. Thus accurate light, shadow and reflection effects are created in real time, instead of fixed, pre-rendered textures. The Super-VGA graphics card used was capable of generating 65,000 color variations. The game also features fully non-linear gameplay.
Surrealist painter Gil Bruvel designed the environments and characters on two Silicon Graphics Indy and Onyx computers over a period of eight months. In Joystick magazine, he elaborated that he shared his thoughts on the script and game world, created 120 locations in 3D with their own color schemes, and some of the movements. However, to limit the size of the game, only half of the environments were realized.
