Funny German film on relationships
HakanG9 December 2003
Had this on video, taped from TV since over a year, just finally saw it yesterday night and got hooked. Cute, funny movie about the (sexual) relations of several people in (I think) Hamburg.

I have a tendency to like this sort of relationship, dialogue-driven movies, like Robert Altman, Short Cuts-style, and that is what this film delivers. Main character runs Alibi, a company providing excuses to spouses off cheating on their partners. Meets old school love interest and makes a bet that anyone would cheat on their partner if they knew they would get away with it. He then proceeds to win the bet by helping the unknowing target couple along in the marital escapade process.

The touch with the added story-telling of an Evita-like Che Guevara driving the story forwards is a well-executed concept. All in all, funny, interesting and made me stay up late to finish watching it. 7 out of 10.

Really funny German movie

For those who are wondering what the title means ..."Die Nacht, in der ganz ehrlich überhaupt niemand Sex hatte" means "the night in which very honestly nobody had sex at all".

First of all, let me mention that German is not my mother tongue and I rate myself as medium on my German language fluency.

Having said that, since this is comedy movie, I didn't expect much that I would be able to enjoy the movie due to my somewhat limited German language fluency (there was no subtitle in English!).

Turned out I was wrong. Even though I only understood perhaps 70-80% of the dialogue in the movie, I could not stop laughing while watching the movie. The movie is so funny.

The story line is surprisingly simple but the execution is fantastic!
