Another Tenchi Spin-off Succeeds!
peter-c-odlaug5 January 2003
Warning: Spoilers
Tenchi Muyo! GXP is yet another spin-off series from the original Tenchi Muyo! GXP centers around Yamada Seina, a nephew of Tenchi (the main character of the original series). Seina is the unluckiest person on Earth and woe be to anyone who is within his sphere of influence. To avoid any big spoilers, here's a very brief summery... Seina gets mistaken for a strong person (due to his extensive bruises) by GXP officer Amane who crashed her ship (in typical Mihoshi style)into the lake in front of Tenchi's home. Amane offers Seina a pamphlet for the GXP acadamy and his family makes him fill it out thinking it's a joke but that they might get a prize out of it. Seina wakes up on a GXP control ship, and his adventures, the misadventures of the people around him ,and the series, get started. Another top-notch entry, GXP continues the idea of action, love triangles and hilarious comedy that defines Tenchi-Muyo! A must see for fans.

GXP Good Show
Fury903329 August 2005
I'm picking up the show these last few months. I've found it to be nice knee slapping (funny) show. The show hearkens back to the original's concept of putting characters in silly social situations. However they do take themselves seriously. Near latter part of the series, it does start to come apart become bit too silly fighting Yamata's nasty bad luck.

If you compare this show with too the newly release Tenchi Muyô!Ryo OhKI (season 2) which has been released in Summer of 2005. (not even on the IMDb yet of this writing.) The GXP is still a better series in comparison. Makers of newest Tenchi Muyô! OVA (This is resumption of the original OVA series from 1992.) draw heavily from the GXP be series success and story events to reinforce resuming of Tenchi Muyô! OVA series. However, its crappier in comparison to GXP. CGI at times is spotty, English voice acting is not as good, missing key voices and bad choices of replacements.

GXP's is a tighter ship, if not for its flaws beyond episodes 17+.

Excellent series, a very re-watchable Scifi comedy series!!!
