Excellent reinvention of the classic series
Sentinel-153 July 2005
Being a fan of the original series (and yes, the toys as well) I was thrilled to see this new series.

It is brilliant! It reinvents the old characters and manages to stay true to its origins. Finally these "masters of the universe" deliver action living up to their title. Skeletor at last is the powerful menacing character he should be. He-Man is the good-hearted force of nature he always was, slightly updated for these times.

And then I hear about its cancellation. Say what?! The inmates are running the asylum, it would seem. Why cancel it?! This series has so much potential... What is wrong with people?!

Bring it back! It showed so much promise!

Solid update and improvement over the original series
TalkingContradiction8 December 2021
This is how you update a series for a new generation: take what worked from the original series: dynamic and memorable character designs and refine and build upon it with deeper characterization and world building while taking advantage of the technological improvements in animation and editing.

While not ground breaking this a very respectable and entertaining show for kids with enough complexity for adult to enjoy unironically. All the while very much remaining in the spirit of the previous series and is currently now the definitive version of the show and its characters as far as I'm concerned.

Definitely recommend it over both netflix shows as of this date. Check it out most people slept on this show when came out just like the similarly overlooked and underrated Thunderscats remake that came out in 2011.

So glad its back, hope it stays
brandellewilliams500011 November 2004
I was a huge fan of the he-man cartoon in the 80s, but being so young i didn't get to see as much as i would've liked. This 21st century version of the Masters of the universe cartoon is a great re-make of the old cartoon and better overall i have to say. The storyline and plot in this cartoon is much better than the original and the action sequences are a lot more explosive and entertaining. Remember the old MOTU cartoon was made in the early 80s and cartoons have come a long way since then, so the animation is advanced better and the characters are much more detailed and better looking. The new cartoon is not as goof ball and childish as the old cartoon and the majority of the characters are seen in more than one episode and get to be involved in the plot and unlike the 80s version this cartoon is not merely a vehicle in which to promote the sale of Mattel toys as it was the case before.I like the fact that all of the old characters from the 80s version that were in like one or two episodes then had an action figure made out of them, do actually appear in a few episodes and have their character developed more than in the original.Villains like Skeletor and Evil-Lyn are more cunning and evil than the goofy roles they had before and I'm glad that this cartoon rarely resorts to the slapstick action that so often spoiled the original. As i said i do think this is a better cartoon overall, but i do like the original version of the He-man character more than this one, he looked more brawnier and had a better voice and i like the old transformation sequence where prince Adam turns into he-man better than the new one. But this cartoon is much better written and its nice to see that effort is put into the story and the dialogue. I enjoy this version of the Masters of the Universe cartoon very much and its great to see it being done the way it shouldve been done in the 80s, but all cartoons were goofy back then anyway, I'm over the moon that its back for a whole new generation of viewers to enjoy, i just hope it sticks around for a few years.

A Vast Improvement on The Original
Ken-12030 April 2003
I used to watch the original He-Man series, but eventually I grew out of it after realizing just how poorly budgeted and written it was, albeit with with notable exceptional episodes.

However, this series is a perfect example of the best kind of remake. The producers obviously examined the original series thoroughly and set out to play up the best elements of the series and rectify the weaknesses. As a result, the series boasts vastly superior animation that avoids the constant cycles and other crudities of Filmation's work. There is also wonderful writing with stories that are so well paced that each episode has the feel of a feature film with the amount of content they manage to pack in. The characters are formed with intricate detail and it allows for a truly compelling viewing experience.

It is a pleasure to see a remake finally be everything that it should be.

He-Man still has the power...
paul_haakonsen20 January 2016
I grew up on the 1980's cartoon with "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" and I enjoy essentially everything about this franchise. So when they decided to rekindle the franchise in 2002, after having left off with "New Adventures of He-Man", I was more than excited.

And the two seasons that managed to be made in 2002 and 2003 were living up to my expectations and then some. They had managed to capture the magic and essence of the 1980's animated series to the very heart of it all, but they had also managed to evolve the franchise. This evolution took the new animated series in a more mature direction, without it becoming unsuitable for the younger viewers still.

While the animation and drawing style deviates from the original series, then it is still quite enjoyable. And it was refreshing to see the changes made to the character designs and the Eternia universe as a whole.

The episodes are enjoyable to watch and the story is a nicely told story that progress well throughout the course of the episodes. There is a good continuation throughout the entire series.

If you enjoyed the 1980's animated series of "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe", then you will most definitely also enjoy the 2002 revival of the franchise. It was just a shame that the series didn't continue for more than two seasons.

And the best part about this 2002 series, like the original 1980's series, is that it can be watched again and again. And it is more than well-deserving a place in the collection of any fan of "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe".

"True follow-up of a 80's Classic"
kevinkishin26 July 2021
First: The Animation & Writing were second to none, Second: The Team who put this together had class, Three: I really wish a third season of this would come out. The Netflix fiasco of this franchise should be a call too Arms to make this happen, it would be a helluva competition.

A great remake cut down in its prime. Damn you Cartoon Network! There was still so much story left to tell!
DarthBill18 August 2008
Warning: Spoilers
A fairly bold retelling of the 1980s classic "He-Man & The Masters of the Universe", the callow, carefree young prince Adam of Eternia, goof off son of the highly respected King Randor, is informed by the beautiful, mysterious Sorceress of Castle Grayskull that he is destined to become He-Man, defender of Eternia, champion of the oppressed, protector of all that is good and just. Initially skeptical of all this, Adam learns it is very true after his father is kidnapped & his home torn up by the evil Lord Skeletor, formerly Keldor, an old enemy of his father. After becoming He-Man (voiced in both forms by Cam Clarke, best remembered as Leonardo from the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon), joining forces with his mentor Man-At-Arms, gal pal Teela, and the Heroic Masters (Stratos, Ram-Man, Man-E-Faces, Buzz-Off, Mek-A-Neck, Roboto, Sy-Clone and Fisto), our big brawny hero finds himself once again battling the evil forces of Skeletor, Count Marzo, King Hiss & the Snakemen, with occasional assistance from Zodak. And yes, Orko and Cringer/Battle Cat are also back and so is Queen Marlena.

For the most part, very well written, with stronger characterizations and personality contrasts to the previous versions. About the only thing they did wrong was that Skeletor's henchmen were too stupid (seriously, the 21st century, I thought we were beyond the dumb evil henchmen by now). Though head & shoulders above many lesser shows of today, sadly, Cartoon Network cut this wonderful remake off just when it was starting to get really good. The eventual idea was to bring in Hordak and the Horde, introduce a re-imagined She-Ra, have Teela learn the truth of her heritage (the Sorceress of Grayskull is her mom), but alas, these ambitions were never realized.

DAMN YOU CARTOON NETWORK!

Well, it's all on DVD now, so they can't take it away from us.

Little bit of Trivia: before this series, Cam Clarke had voiced the Marvel comics hero Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic for a Fantastic Four guest spot on Spider-Man's animated series circa 1994. In 2006, Brian Dobson, who voiced Skeletor/King Hiss/Buzz-Off/etc. in this series, would take on the role of Ben Grimm/the Thing for "Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes".

He-Man and the Master's Of the Universe Reborn!!!
jemilcar12 September 2022
I absolutely loved watching this reboot of He-Man and the Master's of the Universe when it first aired on Cartoon Network back in 2002. They really did justice to the source material. Plus, the animation looks amazing. I only wish it lasted one more season. It had everything you could ask for in a cartoon at the time. As well as a backstory for each of the characters including Skeletor. As a kid from the 80's owning the action figures,I often wondered why Skeletor had a blue body and now I finally know who he was before he became Skeletor and his connection and relationship to King Randor. Anyone who grew up collecting Masters of the Universe action figures will be pleased by this reboot. I highly recommend it.

It's good.
foxy1181420 November 2012
Warning: Spoilers
**Possible spoilers for this and the eighties series** Okay, so I know I might be one of the minority here, but I do not think this version is better than the original 80's cartoon "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe." Don't get me wrong, I like this series. I own it and bought the DVDs when they first came out, but the same can be said for the original series, as well as "She-Ra" and "The New Adventures of He-Man." I'll start with the likes: I like that Adam is younger and that he looks younger. In the original, both Adam and He-Man are in their late teens, but I like Adam being a bit younger to show more of a conflict with his dual identity. Because this show has a more modern audience, we get more fighting (even though I like the original's fighting better) and conflicts.

Now, I know the next question. Why is this one not better than the original? There are a few things. First and foremost, this new series misses the camaraderie of the first series. Man-at-Arms, Orko, and Cringer/Battlecat have definitely lost their appeal. And, I know with the latter, everyone is going to think it's because he can't speak, but it's not really that, even though I do prefer him to speak. He just isn't as important as he used to be. The same can be said about all three of them, really. One of the things I loved about the first series was the banter between Adam and Cringer about changing into their alter egos. Not to mention, they have real charisma as best friends who can discuss their transformations and lives. Adam doesn't really have any one who will 100% understand what he goes through since Cringer can't speak with him on the subject! Man-at-Arms doesn't seem to be as caring as the original. And, as for Orko, well, this one is just annoys me at times. But again, that's not to say this series is bad. I do like it, and I do enjoy it.

As for He-Man himself, I don't like how he's drawn. He's TOO big. If he was about the size of the He-Man in the original show, I'd like it. Of course, I realize that's partly because of the style of the animation. I also don't think the transformation is as catchy as the original. I definitely don't like the way He-Man says, "I have the power!" It's too deep for one thing and again, it's done much better in the original. Sorry that I'm comparing them, but that's almost instinctive since it's a remake.

I realize the aim for this cartoon is an older audience than the original so some things were changed, and that's fine, but I think the people who were interested in this show were the adults who watched the original show as children, and this series, while good and definitely worth a watch, is found wanting. It would be better to have aired the original again and I think Cartoon Network would have received more of an audience. I think the ways in which it is different from the original is why it didn't last. There is just something about the first show that makes it appealing and just pure magic. And, that's me saying this as an adult, not a child. Of course, nostalgia might be a culprit as to why here, but I don't think so.

A great re-do of a classic series.
crap815 June 2004
If you loved the old He-man then this show will appeal to you. It's got all the same characters, but the character development and plot is crisper. There is more internal conflict. And more inter character relationships. This series is filled with drama between the characters you loved in the 80's. And the animation looks better. Personally, I don't think the way the fights are animated, a sort of cheap dragon ball z type reuse of the same 'flying' shots over and over again. It's not bad, it just gets old if you watch them too often. But over all it's really quite enjoyable. Since this post is referring to the pilot movie in particular. I must say it's a great story that was never told in the original series. It tells how Skeletor came to be. And how he got that cute skeletal face of his. It give backround that you've been dying to know since the early 80's. It's worth watching for that alone. ANd it tells how Prince Adam first became He-man. Which was also left out of the 80's show. Watch it. You will not be disappointed.

Best Rendition of the He-Man Series
Aegelis4 March 2023
Having grown up during the original, I had the opportunity to see various versions over the years including cartoons and comics. Although the storytelling is geared towards a young audience, all else has been elevated beyond a kid's show. Creativity with the stories is fantastic, colour is rich, shading adds depth, action well directed, and animation smooth as silk. Even the modifications to original characters were an upgrade from Teela to Sorceress. Characterization takes center stage as we learn about the backgrounds of heroes and villains alike, not just the quests they are on. Threaded throughout, a moral to be learned which even us adults can greatly benefit from time and time again. Ageless classic, very happy to have the whole series to enjoy.

Not bad. Better than the original ever was.
steelcaltrop23 August 2006
Some people seem to think that this ruined the original and the makers themselves have been hit by idiotic comments like that. While I wouldn't go so far as to say that this show is really that good, it does better the original in every single aspect. The technical aspects are incomparable and I guess that charm of the original is what was missing but then how old were we when we actually saw the original and how impressionable were we then? The animation is good, OK for 21st century quality, the story lines are passable or average when they stand alone or somewhat better when they tie in together for the bigger plot. The action does suck though and the hitting and punching is quite annoying. He-Man is also disturbingly muscular and unrealistic. But having said all that and given the limitations of the concept itself, I don't see how the developers could have done any better, except for providing better music?

It was good seeing them again
margineanvladdaniel18 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Now that the new one is coming. Wanted to refresh my memory. The action was not very dynamic, boring most of the cases, but they did compesate with the exceptional design and drawing. It was flawless. I loved that and the ending of most episodes they told the moral. Even as an adult was welcomed. I would have wanted a continuing of the story, but we shall see what's in store for us from the next one. Hoping to see you again! Until next time!

Better or Worse?
florentinoalejandro22 May 2007
It's better because: I say both! i like the new story line. the plot and the settings. He-Man and Adam looks cooler too. The 80's seem to be a gay image now like the most comments i am reading in youtube. Eitherway, they should have finished Season 3.It was left behind just like that. I really like the story. What's wrong with the world. Aside from the almost "real" situations like sometimes Adam can't use the sword, you gotta love some jokes even with Skeletor's minions. i really like the way and the story transition.

It's worse because: He-Man 2002 may seem too early to fall for the fact that it does not garner high TV ratings that is why Season 3 was canceled all the way. Matell should focus on this rather than on boobs show Barbie they have. Anyway of course since it's a business establishment, they aim primarily on earning money rather than making their audiences entertained - yes in conjunction with He-Man. They should have however finish the story at least for those people paying their cable networks and buying some of their toys as collections. I also didn't got the chance of collecting all the characters.

OK, that would be all.

1980's original was much better!
GingerStarWarsnerd4 August 2019
I've hardly seen this show, and already it stinks. It's much darker than the original series and not as humorous or uplifting. There were no moral lessons at the end of every episode. I do own the 2002 Castle Grayskull which is cool but that's pretty much it.

Dare I say it, better than the original
rhoberic25 August 2003
So, the new He-Man cartoon on CNX. Is it good, telling a good story while at the same time making us all nostalgic for the original, or is it just a big pile of elephant turd? There haven't been many re makes of 80's cartoons yet, except for a couple of attempts at new Transformers series, which I have to say, were pretty appalling. So, I was kinda sceptical about the new He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. But, I have now watched enough episodes to make a judgement. I will do so by listing the good points followed by the bad points. Good points: 1: The new looks for the characters. They have modernised, and dare I say it, improve upon the look the of characters, making everyone look very cool, while still remaining incredibly faithful to the way they looked in the original. For example, Man At Arms helmet always looked kinda stupid in the original, but with the updated look, seems pretty cool. Beastman looks pretty much the same, but is now also really rather large, which works better for the character. So the new look is actually an improvement. 2: Todays animation techniques are obviously better than they were 20 years ago, and this has worked very much in He-Man's favour. Everything about the cartoon looks incredible and moves fluidly. But just look at the locations. Most of the time, they have enough character of their own. 3: The characters really haven't changed. Everyone is pretty much what they were in the original, with only slight updates to keep up with the times. Sure, Adam and Teela are younger, but again, it just seems better. 4: Cringer/Battlecat doesn't talk anymore. This is one of the biggest differences to the original, but I prefer it this way. Having Cringer just mew like a frightened kitten, then roaring and snarling when he becomes Battlecat works better than having him talk. He seems more like what he's supposed to be now: the loyal pet. 5: The voices. Most of them sound pretty similar to the voices from the original. Skeletor particularly. The actor doing Skeletor's voice is one of the best things about this series. 6: The humour. There's some very funny moments in the new series, and I don't remember there being very many of those in the original. For example, have a look at the episode where the Masters try to defeat Skeletor once and for all by attching a device to him which hurts him whenever he say's or does anything bad. Watching Skeletor trying desperately to be nice and polite to his minions is hilarious. 7: Where else on television today are you going to find characters with such great names like Buzz-Off, Mechaneck, Man-E-Faces and Ramman? 8: It wipes away any memories of the awful Dolph Lundgren film Bad points: 1: They changed the theme tune! All right, so maybe the original theme tune just wouldn't work in this day and age, but come on! 2: He-Man doesn't hold his sword in front of him now when he say's "I have the power!". He just keeps it pointed skyward. That just seems wrong somehow. So there you go. The good points far outweigh the bad, and lets face it, how tiny and petty are thos bad points. So I say that the new He-Man is a triumph. It's at least an equal to its predecessor, if not better in some ways. Lets hope this paves the way for some decent re makes of other classics. I for one would love to see the Thundercats come back in a good cartoon, and it's about time the transformers came back in a cartoon that did justice to the fantastic originals. And lets also hope that the new He-Man goes on for long enough that they remake the Secret of the Sword movie which introduced She-Ra and we get a new She-Ra cartoon. That'd be cool.

The power rekindled
ThePaladin121 October 2004
I was born in 1983 (the same year the original series first came out) so it's not too far of a stretch to say that I literally grew up with it, in any case it remains one of my all time favourites. So, when I heard they were coming out with a remake I was hopeful, but skeptical. I've seen too many fall flat and too many are blatant money ploys with little bearing on the original (like a certain movie that I won't name.).

That said, when I first watched the series I was pleasantly surprised. This is obviously a labour of love that gives as much respect to old schoolers like myself as it does to those who have never even heard of Eternia. I was amazed to see the amount of detail, from Evil-Lynn's hair to the long standing Keldor/Skeletor rumour, that was brought into it.

The characterization is also terrific and they've even expanded on as are many of the details and relationships that weren't as heavily addressed in the old one. The animation is much richer and smoother and the series lacks the classic "80s cheese" (oh well).

Not to say that there aren't some points that I don't think work well ie: my biggest problem is Cringer not talking, though that's a rant I've done elsewhere.

This is a strong series that I've really enjoyed up to now and is, so far, a worthy successor to the original.

Bringing back the childhood magic!
billwenham21 September 2002
Growing up in the 80's, specifically a boy growing up in the 80's, it's not surprising I am very fond on He-Man. However, just this past summer I watched one of the first episodes that I would have grown up with and didn't understand all the fuss. Why did I like this show so much? The writing was terrible - the animation....well, no good animation came out of the 80's in retrospect in my opinion. I guess the only thing the short lived, but heavily remembered, animated series had going for it was the plot.

I grew up with the action figures - possibly the largest array of action figures ever known - but slowly the names and the ongoing plots faded in my mind and soon my own creative imagination took over and created my own adventures, combining various sets of Ghostbusters and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I was getting further and further away from the concept of the show - and then before I knew it, I grew up forgot all about Orko and and Beast-Man. That is, until I saw that terrible excuse for an episode.

It was bad, there's no denying that, but then why did I have such fond memories of the show? I guess it's the same with any show - limited technology never meant it was bad, but we've acquired higher expectations on television these days.

Not too long ago I heard of a new line of He-Man action figures. "What's the point?" I would ask myself, but really, they were pretty cool looking. And then I discovered the new series of action figures was arriving the same time as the new animated series itself!

Eventually I was able to download the show to see what all the hype was about - and truthfully, I was not disappointed! While not the most brilliantly animated show on television, it far surpassed my expectations, and even made me tolerate the dreadful Japanese Anime, since this new cartoon imitated it to an extent. The colors were stunning and the characters were dead-on. Everything was perfect - the enchanting and rich tale was still fresh and nothing could ruin it.

This show has done the unthinkable for me: it's preserved a child's forgotten yet rose-tinted memories of a show to which every other cartoon has always been compared with....yet it proved me right. He-Man is worth saving and marketed back in the mainstream of the public. He's truly a hero for everyone, 5 yr olds and even 20 yr olds like myself.

And who knows the same thing may happen 15 years from now and I'll be remembering this show was rose-tinted memories. Maybe I'll catch an episode on late-night television - you know, the time slot for insomniacs who don't care what they watch - and maybe then I'll wonder why the hell I was watching it back in the day as well. But for now, I'm reveling in the moment that one of the greatest tales ever told is being told to a new generation, and this time I can get a hell of a lot more out of my favorite animated star.

I Have The Power!!!!
Mr_Garak12 October 2003
Warning: Spoilers
WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD!

He-Man is back for the 21st Century, after the failed attempt to bring him back during the very early 1990's and that whole traveling to the future nonsense, mattel/myp brought he-man back to his roots and did a kick-a** job in the process.

forget Transformers, they've wasted too many oppertunities to bring Transformer back to it's greatness, He-Man delivers a non kiddyfied 22 minute toy commercial filled with great action and brilliant voice acting and animation.

This show totally blows the original out of the water, they've updated almost all of the characters but kept them looking like they did in the original show and improved on the characterization, Skeletor is totally evil in this new series having originally been called Keldor who attempted to steal the powers of the elders had his face burnt off by acid ment for captain randor, he fled back to snake mountain with his minions and was trapped in the dark hemisphere for many years because of the mystic wall created by the sorceress and man at arms, but was destroyed by Skeletor and his minions who where now free to conquer the light side of eternia and steal the elders power, unknown to skeletor the Elders had transformed themselves into pure energy and had been hidden away in castle greyskull since Keldors defeat many years ago, another factor to add is that Kobra Khan is not a part of Skeletors minions this time infact he has his own agenda to free King Hiss who was imprisoned within the void deep inside Snak Mountain by the elders and the mystic Zodak who's brother was killed by King Hiss, Snake Mountain was originally built by King Hiss's snake army as a fortress to launch a full scale invasion of eternia from.

another factor to add is the flash back of Hordak who this time does not appear to be a Cyborg who can shape shift into rockets and other thing, but insted seems to be a Warlord who also seemed bent on ruling eternia, but so far has only made a cameo appearance in a flash back, but rumors say that the Horde may show up near the end of season 2 or early season 3.

an excellent series to enjoy whether you're young or older a fan of the original or a new fan, masters of the universe does not disapoint, unlike a certain other Transformers series which fails to impress again and again.

Just as good, cool, and epic as the original!
Movie Nuttball19 March 2003
Being a very big He-Man fan and collector and loving the original series I really didn't know what to think when I first saw the new series.Though I admit that I have only seen one episode and that one was the Courage of Adam.It was really a remake of the original episode. It was good and very entertaining. There are things how ever that has changed compared to the very first series.I honestly don't know if it is for the better or what as it is to soon to tell and I don't want to bash or say anything bad about the 2002 He-Man and the Masters Of The Universe series. The things I noticed is that Cringer/Battle Cat doesn't talk.Is all he does when he is Cringer is do a simple meow and when he is Battle Cat he makes a fantastic roar.Teela is not the beautiful and attractive young but intelligent Captain of the Guard. She is now a teenager that is really a brat.It is hard to tell the difference between Prince Adam and He-Man.Skeleto now longer wears boots and his voice sounds the same but then it doesn't.Man-At-Arms is younger and has a short pony tail. Some other things but really the show this awesome and the music helps it seem epic.I do like the show but I guess I'm not use to it because I've seen the older series so much.I'm sure some MOTU fans of the old show do and don't like the show compared to the original but I like both!

I LOVE YOU, CARTOON NETWORK!
sickink227 September 2002
Words cannot describe the combination of blissful nostalgia and childlike wonder I experienced while watching this new version of my favorite cartoon for the first time. I've been hoping for years that Cartoon Network would air the old MOTU episodes, but I never expected an all-new series! Finally, they've got an original action cartoon worth watching!

Comment of the very excellent and epic Walmart exclusive video: The World Of He-Man!
Movie Nuttball20 July 2003
This is a comment on the exclusive Walmart video: The World of He-Man!

As you know I am a huge He-Man fan and an action figure collector. This video is included with the He-Man figures over at Walmart and is only available at that store unless you shop on Ebay.Any way This video is phenomenal! The intro is longer and doesn't get cut off and it is very much like the original. Its great to know that they thought of doing something like that. The video is twenty-six minutes long and it is filled with excitement! It shows most of the characters (more on that later) and tons of action scenes! The animation in My opinion very much like Batman: The Animated Series.Sure its great but I hate to say which one is better: The original He-Man series or the new but the truth is I can't decide. The music is very good by Joseph LoDuca. The introductions of each character is great, the fighting scenes are really staged well, and the way the tape is made is really a serious feature. Now about the characters that is in the film.

The Heroic Warriors: (Queen Marlena is not present)

He-Man/Prince Adam,Battle Cat/Cringer,Man-At-Arms,Orko,Teela,Ram Man,Stratos,The Sorceress,Man-E-Faces,Buzz-Off,Sy-Clone,Mekaneck,Moss Man,Roboto,Zodak,and King Randor.

The Evil Enemies: (The Faceless One and Hordak are not present)

Skeletor/Keldor,Panthor,Beast Man,Evil-Lyn,Mer-Man,Trap Jaw,Tri-Klops,Whiplash,Clawful,Count Marzo,Tuvar of Two Bad,Baddhra of Two Bad,Two Bad,Evilseed,Stinkor,Webstor,King Hiss,Cobra Khan,and Rattlor!

----------

I think the character selection on this video is excellent despite that Queen Marlena, the Faceless One,and Hordak are not present but really I love the way each one is introduced. This is a great way for a beginner or for someone who doesn't have cable and in My opinion its for kids and adults!Hardcore He-Man fans, this is a must have.Whether you need to make a purchase on Amazon Auctions or Ebay or buy a figure with the exclusive video I strongly recommend that you do something because it is a wonderful video release and it will be absolutely worth it and you don't want to miss it!What more can I say except that its one of the greatest videos I have ever seen!

Again Cartoon Network Lies
PhantomKnight28 May 2005
Warning: Spoilers
For Everyone out there that forgot they hyped this show up at least a year before it's PILOT ever aired. It lasted about a year maybe 2. A Horrible GBA game came out and it disappeared.I've Always Been a Huge fan of He-Man and this show never disappointed It was good although it was kinda strange how in the 80's he was He-Man, and in this one he TRANSFORMS into He-Man I knew BattleCat but I also Knew Prince Adam Did not, He just hid that he was in fact He-Man, anyways Great Animation They even created new stuff in the show:Battle Armor a new shield some other stuff. The voices were great.Animation very top-notch no details spared. I always Kept thinking teela would sooner or later catch on that Prince Adam ran away and there comes He-Man. There was much character turmoil, conflict and change. Adam always struggled with his alter-ego what Hero didn't? But then again Cartoon Network as soon as it became a hit torched it they moved it to 6am and then yanked it for what? That crappy transformers remake? They wouldn't know what to do with a real hit, that's why DragonBall is pushed under everything else and that's the show that actually made em popular but whatever they're better after 11 p.m If this ever comes to DVD rent it watch it you'll love it all over again

First Samuri Jack, then Justice League, now this. Man CN your on a roll (spoilers)
Tricer144717 January 2003
Warning: Spoilers
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is part Yu-Gi-Oh, part Thundar the Barbarian, part ThundarCats and part Samuri Jack. (He Man sounds just like Yami Yugi) This is Cartoon Networks 3rd original action series (fourth counting Powerpuff girls) and like the other ones its pretty cool. Of course Samuri Jack is the only true original of these three. This series has far more characters than any other CN original, I'll go over them.

The Goodies

He-Man- The alter ego of Prince Adam, who is like Hercules, he is VERY POWERFUL and a true heroe. (Just like Jack and the League) his companion is the alter ego of Prince Adam's green tiger Cringer, Battlecat.

Man at Arms- Leader of the MAsters ( a powerful group of warriors) his real name is Douncan (he has two lame names but he's a pretty cool character, I mean you would have to be a warror without getting beat up with those names.

Teela- MAn's daugther who loves who harrass Prince Adam. She's loyal and a brave fighter but I think she's a b"tch. She seemigly has a crush on He-MAn. SHe is cool but she's a b"tch

Orco- a little magic sprite who serves has comic relief. He is one of my favorite characters. His magic is weak without his wand and he does get in the way but he helps sometimes.

Sorrceress- Teela's mother who gave Adam the sword to become He-Man

MAsters- Ram man ( a bulldozer Homer Simpson like guy) Stratos (Think Birdman or Hawkman) Maney-faces (part man, part monster and part robot) Mekaneck (a cyborg with a streching neck) Buzzof (an insectoid figther who was once Stratos's enemy) Cyclone (a strom blowing gaurdian)

The baddies

Skelator- He is freaky. His face was burned right of, leaving his face bones sticking out. He's also a pretty smart guy. His minions are powerful but most of them (except Evelin and Triclopes) have limited intelligence. This way he can control them his fearsome powers. HE is the enemy of Adams father. King Randor who caused him to mutate

Panthor- Skelator's pet panther monster who is Battlecat's arch enemy

Evelin- My favorite villian in the show. She is a witch with very strong magic. She's cunning, sly, sleazy, powerful and all around diabolical. She may be evil but I have a hard time deciding who's a bigger b"tch. Her or Teela.

Beastman- a spiky ape man who can control any monster except for dragons. HE is probably the least intelligent bad guy.

Merman- a wimpy fish man who is really good only in his element.

Triclopes- a fighter with three eyes around his forehead covered by a macanical ring who is like a scientist.

Other baddies- Whiplash (an ankylosaurs man with a clubbed tail, Clawful (giant lobster man) TrapJaw (cyborg thug)

This is a pretty good show with great animation and awesome sound effects 10/10
